“Just because that’s what they say doesn’t mean that’s what he’ll do.”

I was a massive Freaks & Geeks fan as a 14 year old. The show spoke to me - it was the first time I had ever seen a female character on TV that felt real and multi-dimensional.

This is super not OK and I’m surprised you’re not ashamed when you’re sharing this. My bike-riding friend was hit by a driver who, much like you, thought smoking weed and driving was OK. Luckily he survived but just food for thought if you’re proudly vaping while driving to *avoid* “vehicular murder”.

Nah. You shouldn’t have to be more than a casual Star Wars fan to be able to enjoy blockbuster summer Star Wars films.

Tannis Root?

I recognize that this might be gossipy but there have been hints that Sadie’s bio mom never had custody of Shana, or much contact with her, and therefore could not possibly know this info.

The 90s are back, baby!

Oh good, now we get the Manic Alien Dream Girl trope. Pass.

It seems likely! Though he does seem to have no shortage of talented women (and girls) he likes to manipulate. Name I’m thinking of begins with K.

Yeah circa 2007 I read the blog of an illustrator who worked with him and over time it became clear that they were dating, or in some sort of romantic arrangement. John K.’s posts about her were either 1) sexualised drawings/comments about her work or 2) posts where he critiqued every aspect of her art in a

Lindsay Lohan is sounding like the new Sean Young. Dollars down that she’ll be making her own Batgirl suit and popping out of Wheadon’s trash can one morning.

I once spent a week with a close family friend who had always been like an aunt but was closer to my grandma’s age. She was insanely rich, spacey, and very unaware of the sort of things kids my age (10) were/were not allowed to do (for example, she let me steer her speedboat while she finished a glass of wine).

UCL is pretty massive, with a relatively open campus. Students can even book event spaces and classrooms for unofficial group study sessions, so it’s possible these guys were really opaque when they described what would actually be discussed.

I loved TFA and Rouge One, and really hated TLJ. I think there are completely fair criticisms about this film that go beyond “you can never please adult Star Wars fans”

I’d never describe myself as a “deep dive” Star Wars fan but I still think there’s something to be said for consistency even in a superhero movie. Wolverine doesn’t just get the ability to fly to serve a plot point, Wonder Woman’s lasso of truth doesn’t work on someone it’s not wrapped around.

Everyone (myself included) that I spoke to who hasn’t enjoyed this movie isn’t faulting it’s originality. They’re faulting it’s decimation of the rules that govern things like the Force: Leia’s bizarre survival/float; Force-users like Rey & Kylo not just communicating telepathically but also visually like the Force is

My dog was flown to the East Coast from a high-kill California shelter - as most of city and county-run shelters in CA are - where he almost certainly would have been euthanized.

“Don’t tell me what this town’s fucking culture is, my family created this town’s fucking culture, and would you care to check out how many community initiatives we’re still leading?”

So good and so true. I’m from a very different sort of place that went through a very similar transformation - from poor/working class

I’m feeling this too - but I didn’t even leave my own neighborhood. I was born & raised in what is now an extremely gentrified part of NYC and today I get shitty stares/reactions from folks on the street and IN THE BUILDING WHERE I GREW UP because I “look like one of Them” -Them being the newcomers. It fucking sucks.

Thanks for saying this - I was thinking the same thing. Us god damn women, always pretending to like music for attention!
