I’m...disappointed

The premise is that they build up all this tension, then she gets the room open and it’s like Al Capone’s safe. Just an empty room with maybe a dried up mouse corpse in it.

Agreed on the title. A disappointment room sounds like someplace where your doctor sits you down and gives you, your biopsy results, but it has clowns.

This is a stupid argument. So some people, mostly the ones that obey laws already, can wait to buy and collect their cool gun toys. This fixes nothing, as others will still be able to get them on the black market or by other means (theft) in order to use them later that same day. Your idea simply attempts to prevent

Because people who are liberal can’t make the distinction between a TOOL of murder, and a murderer. BTW, liberal gun owner here.

And the ultimate irony is that the same Hollywood circle that mythologizes and glorifies guns and gunplay—and profits abundantly from it—are often the ones who demonize guns and legal gun ownership in real life.

Dude, this is a Gawker site. Your reasonable stance on firearm safety has no place here.

Gun safety classes are bad, because people might actually learn something about guns at them. If that happens, how are you going to get away with telling people that you just want “common sense restrictions on multi-automatic barrel shroud clips and cop killer bullets”? They'll know you are talking bullshit.

It's gawker. Anything to do with guns is automatically to be demonized, even if it's promoting safety and responsible ownership.

There’s so much inaccurate information floating around out there that I’d actually support mandatory gun safety classes for all firearms owners.

Because to the anti-gun crowd (which, from my experience, is not a large cross-section of comic/fantasy enthusiasts), “gun safety” is part of “gun culture.” After all, gun safety is only necessary because guns exist, and what they really want is for guns not to exist.

It just seems a bit odd to have this idea that someone couldn’t be both a geek and gun owner. I’ve ran into plenty of people who were both sci fi geeks and gun geeks. So someone being able to answer questions about safety with real guns to geeks looking to potentially buy a real gun doesn’t seem like such a horrible

When I rant about guns, the lack of a national standard of safety and minimal training is a big sticking point. I agree, there is a general ignorance about the use of firearms even among a subsection of gun owners.

There should be gun safety classes for non gun owners too. Too many people are so ignorant about gun safety (yes, even gun owners, ever been to the range?). Make it a mandatory class in highschool, maybe practice with airsoft guns or something.

Yeah, I am confused. I did an eyeroll about the “protecting family and belongings” bit, but gun safety classes seems like a top notch idea.

Oh my stars and garters! How dare those guys try and sell their replica guns and promote gun safety! Those monsters! Those knaves!
