Yes, it's the guns that are the problem here. Penton was clearly unbalanced and likely would have used some other weapon if a gun weren't available, but yes, let's emphasize the guns. They're clearly more important than the murderous roommate.

You do realize that calling this a commonplace occurrence would be like saying Argentina’s population is 90% clones of Hitler, right?
It depends on whose idea it was, I think. If it were a corporate idea, then yeah, hire a black woman to write it. If it was originally Bendis’ idea, let Bendis decide what to do with it—whether he writes it himself or gives it to someone else.

Glad you feel better. Living with terminal ethnocentrism can be rough. Don't expose yourself to too many new things, and above all, do NOT think of people and cultures outside of New Zealand as possibly equal to your own. You wouldn't want to cure that ethnocentrism, now would you?
What can it hurt, though?
Your be surprised, then, how many people violate the most obvious of those rules: DO NOT LOOK DOWN THE BARREL OF A LOADED GUN YOU MORON.
Shows your ignorance. Most states require a gun safety course before purchase.
So there should be gun safety classes everywhere? Whether or not it makes sense?
Maybe that’s not such a bad thing. Sci-fi especially is leaning more toward realism; even if the science is wildly implausible, chances are the author will examine social and political fallout in a realistic manner, no matter how uncomfortable that fallout may be. If this push toward realism included guns, perhaps…
Oh, it is. But there are plenty who could use remedial classes.
That’s a matter of opinion, which could be debated for hours, and was not referenced in my original post.
I'm just going to watch you continue to air your opinions. It's fascinating, and stating mine won't cause you to rethink them.
Yeah. Can’t take you or them seriously. You’re about as fair and balanced as Fox News, my friend.
....sorry, I can’t take anyone who uses the word “ammosexual” seriously.
Little extreme on the comparisons there.
WOW you’re an asshole. Hope you don’t have your fedora on too tight.
Which is why I’m advocating for education and safety where guns are concerned. Not more guns.
First lesson in gun safety: Treat every gun like it’s loaded.
As I’ve already responded to a similar comment, I’m ignoring this one.
