Put yourself in their shoes for a moment. The oft-touted line is that centrists are no different than Trump supporters, and with that comes all the nastiness that’s (justifiably!) directed at Trump being directed at centrists.

Centrists are often treated like they’re “just as bad as the alt-right” and generally made to feel unwelcome in the left. Is it any small surprise then, that they turn to the party that doesn’t actively aggrandize them?
