He is kind of a lazy dick. He seemed great when I was 22 but as a grown woman I’m more of a Ben Wyatt girl. I married a Ben.

The fact that Jerry’s life is actually pretty amazing is genuinely one of my favorite things about Parks and Rec.

Parks and Rec started out bad and got WAY better and The Office started out great but eventually tanked. Those two couples’ relationships were among the driving factors behind their respective show’s direction.

I feel like p and r was less obviously funny, though IMO it had its moments. But I did like and care about the characters way more. And it could make me weirdly happy cry. As others have mentioned Leslie and Ben’s wedding and the series finale can still improve my mood on my most cynical of days.

It’s a hard life trying to convince people that Cougar Town is great despite the title. I was just as surprised as you would be, people!

This actually reminds me of an article I read on the impact of negative vs. positive in TV: A Leslie Knope in a World Full of Liz Lemons. Don’t get me wrong, I love me some 30 Rock, but there’s just something about Leslie and the Parks & Rec crew that makes the sun come out.

I was very late to the Office, and haven’t even seen all of the first season. My husband started binging it on Netflix earlier this year and I got hooked. But Parks and Rec will always have my heart, I watched it from near the beginning and it feels like home or warm comfort food on a cold day. Leslie and Ben forever.

To be fair we’ve since gotten a few great Michael Schur comedies due mostly to his success with The Office. Parks & Rec is phenomenal. Brooklyn Nine-Nine and The Good Place are right up there as well. The Office was the price we paid to get the rest made.

Yeah, I’ll also take Ben’s proposal over Jim’s. And I love their vows:

Thank God he wasn’t, or else the world would have been deprived of the awesomeness that is Chris Evans.

I always preferred Leslie & Ben to Jim and Pam.

I don’t owe Conway jack shit. She chose who she wanted to become and who she is working for.

You’re correct. It’s an ethically dubious position that I would choose to put my own child above other children regarding her education - and yet, I’m only human. Both of my sisters-in-law are teachers in the public school system who work in underserved schools and who put in tons of personal resources to help their

This is stellar. Laugh while you cry seems to be the running theme lately.
