Or because Pence’s personal beliefs have more in common with someone who lived in the mid 19th century?

Everyone is missing the important point here.

It also misinforms the public about how to contact Batman in times of emergency. Can you imagine if the Penguin attacks and people waste valuable time trying to get Alexa to alert Batman instead of throwing up the BatSignal? Jesus Christ.

Yeah, this is impossible. She could actually use the app to hear exactly what was said to order that, but that would require some form of follow-up and a commitment to getting the facts right, rather than the “narrative,” so she’ll never do it.

They should be objective. Trump is objectively awful.

It would be delicious irony if this totally unnecessary merger just ends up being blocked. It’s not going to serve the public interest no matter what, so I’m somehow totally OK with seeing it languish in the courts for the remainder of time.

The merger shouldn’t happen at all regardless of CNN. There are few enough of them as it is. They’re each on their own path to a skynet so maybe we can TRY to slow them down!

I’m getting really sick of the ‘[x] totally murders [y]’ variety, especially when the end result is nothing but ‘anti-[y ]advocates preached too; [y]’s crimes, terrible behaviour continue unchanged.’

I first saw Chasing Amy when I was about 14-15, and one of the things that most stood out was how it portrayed the fragility of the male ego (I didn’t know that phrase then but I knew what I was seeing). Alyssa loves Holden, fucking loves him, more than she’s loved anyone else. But for some reason that’s not enough

“We got another donation from Kevin Smith. A check, plus a dozen oversized hockey jerseys, five pairs of calf-length board shorts, and ten ‘Clerks II’ baseball caps.”

You really live up to your screen name.

Kevin Smith is not a great filmmaker, but he has always tried—with varying degrees of success—to feature women in really positive, and semi-progressive ways in his films. You should pretty much always be on their side in his movies. So, this feels really earned, at least.

Welcome to the weekly Last Week Tonight thread!

Yeah man, haven’t read a Spider-Man book since One More Day. Ruined everything for me.
