I get the feeling that Obama could run into a burning building and singlehandedly rescue an entire Lamaze class full of women and fetuses, plus a basket full of adorable puppies, and certain people would still find something to criticize about it.

Imagine the good it could do a struggling DC neighborhood if [Obama] moved in and established himself as the figurehead of the community, showing his face at local spots and bringing a sense of excitement.
My “friends” called me an asshole for saying that they should wait until at least the next day before the ruin the experience for other people. I said almost exactly this, that my experience is now lessened and I tried to stay away from spoilers.
I’m the asshole for asking for courtesy.
Yup I’m wondering just how many were criticizing Bush for not living in a run down neighborhood as an example to the community.
Oh, you knew that was coming. Anything fancier than some refrigerator boxes in a parking lot is too fancy for the Obamas. And if they did go for the boxes, well, that’s unbecoming of the dignity of the President, how dare they!
So she’s saying the rich black family shouldn’t live in a nice neighborhood?
I got home late Sunday so I didn’t get to see Game of Thrones until a couple hours after everyone else. In that time there was enough going around on Facebook that didn’t directly tell me what happened, but did hint well enough that something with a certain character was going down and how. It was enough to take a…
Counterpoint: no they fucking don’t.
No, sorry, they don’t.
How do you figure? Is a seven-year window that much more representative than a 4-year window for running into trouble with credit?
In 30 years in corp amer.. I have found that 99% of dress codes dictate what women should wear. That is all. The codes are frequently written/approved by men and given to underlings to monitor and correct. They are stupid and sexist first and foremost. In my tiny act of rebellion.. I have never enforced any dress code…
Um.... with the mask? And everything?
Is there where I get to complain about how *after* I quit my job at Bank of America, I found out I was blocked from a promotion because, despite my boss, his boss, and several peers recommending me enthusiastically, the boss above them had an uncomfortable boner for me and said my attire was inappropriate?
I have about 10 tops i switch out. Same tops all the time. I switch between wearing skinny slacks with them and skirts, about 50/50. Never fails that when I wear the skirt someone will comment on how dressed up I am.
I’m a print journalist aka jeans, t-shirt and if you’re lucky, I washed my hair. It’s hilarious when I got to press conferences and the TV reporters are all hot and sexy and then I show up and they’re like, who invited the homeless woman?
I wear dresses, leggings, and flats because they are easier to put on. A couple of months ago my coworker asked if I constantly wore dresses as a “religious thing” which I found odd because the dresses I wear aren’t very conservative. Her eyebrows reached a new level when I explained that I do it because it is…
I think what constitutes “professional” is highly dependent upon the industry you’re in. Lawyers, bankers, finance folks, much traditional “business” workplaces — those are suits or half-suits (aka: suit pants/skirts and blouses for women, or suits pants and shirts but no jackets for men) or go home, period. For most…
“You need to dress properly - it’s about respect!”
Well, that is about as shallow as a kiddie pool. To each his own, but if you have such an aversion to chipped nail polish, your own grooming better be effin’ immaculate...or you are a beautician.
Date older.
