The fact that neither Ann Richards nor Molly Ivins is alive to comment on 45 is simultaneously the best and worst thing. I would LOVE to hear them go off. But then they’d have to live through it like the rest of us, and you don’t wish that on anybody...

*Serving* stoners that can’t manage to say “uh, #4 no pickles and a coke” is enough of a pain in the ass, but that’s the job description. Coming home smelling like shitty hamburger grease AND a Deadhead’s seatcover isn’t.

fair point. unfortunately.

just so we’re clear, I meant that when I lived in Glendale, it was worth the trip to the SGV, rather than waiting 90 min at DTF.

> this guys has already passed his third-arrest strike in the U.S., so why is he still here?

Is that the one that serves the GIANT (like, 6" diameter) XLB? They give it to you with a boba straw. You poke it through the dumpling and suck the soup out. Gimmicky, but fun, and actually pretty tasty.

101Noodles Express was the first ‘real’ chinese place an actual person from China took me to. I am now convinced their hand-torn dan dan mien and their beef roll are the standards to which all other versions get compared.

When I was in Glendale, it was worth the trip.

yup. way at the back. $5.45 CDN for 5 VERY sizable dumplings, steamed or pan-fried. interior soup is light and delicious, the meat is flavorful without being overseasoned. The skins are a touch thick, but given the size, it works.

I maintain the time you spend waiting at DTF is time better spent driving to SGV.

Din Tai Fung? Not worth the 90 min wait. Not when there’s two Mama’s Lu locations in the SGV or you can go to Dean Sin World and pick up a big plastic bag of 50 for 20 bucks and steam them at home.

DUMPLINGS!

please don’t insult cunts like that. She has neither the depth nor the warmth.

she’s currently expressed nothing about her life except that she’s of the ‘rich kids of instagram’ ilk, who I have my own judgements about, but are not contributing DIRECTLY to the current govt. dumpster fire.

The best review, from David Edlestein in Slate. The takeaway line:

That’s true of nearly everyone.

‘regulatory oversight’

It’s possible to maybe split the difference. i.e. WB wanted to fire Snyder, and spoken to him about it, and when tragedy struck, they both decided to just let it end that way since it was already public and entirely plausible, and resulted in a little saved face for everyone involved.

newsflash: the sex in porn movies usually doesn’t feel very good. It *can*, of course, but lets face it, if he’s hammering away from behind at a 3/4 angle so the camera can see the action, and she’s on all fours but twisted around so you can somehow see her face at, and they’ve been at it for 10 minutes solid, that’s

The people who want to write them are people who want to write a GOOD show next. They are newer folks learning how writers’ rooms work, and what the process is of putting together a weekly series. They are people who WERE on a good show and it got cancelled, and this pays bills ‘til a better project comes along.
