As an auto tech, all these stories remind me of the best advice I give to anyone I know looking to get a car repaired.

Good to see GM learning how to properly update a vehicle that isn’t an Enclave or Silverado. A darn shame they didn’t learn that with their sedans.
I definitely do NOT agree with that. Even if in some ways it does. It is quite obvious to me how much sketchier cars are in states with no inspection. Just walk around a parking lot in Florida and see how many cars have tires with cords showing. I can only imagine the state of the brakes. Most people have no clue at…
Having private contractors with a financial interest in your car failing inspection actually doing the inspection is a shitty way of inspecting.
CFA is very overrated and isn’t even that good. I’d argue that Popeyes makes the absolute best chicken sandwiches when it comes to fast food. I mean, Popeyes chicken sandwiches are so damn good that people have committed vandalism, assault, and even murder for a bite of that delicious chicken goodness. Since the hype…
Looking at their lot design, they really screwed the pooch here. A bunch of the CFAs in SoCal have added extra queue space by carving out some of their parking lot spots, but this one is tiny and there’s nowhere to expand on-site. It’s really short-sited and they should have dealt with this a lot sooner. When you have…
The best way to avoid this kind of traffic is to support a locally-owned chicken place that serves tastier food, is likely owned by a member of your local area, and doesn’t publicly, proudly discriminate against the LGBTQ community.
Finally, a chicken tax I can get behind.
Tastes like hate. The money goes to the owner/founder who funds anti-GLBTQ hate groups. If people had a moral compass they would boycott the Hate-Fil-A and support a local restaurant.
I’m only a capitalist when it’s convenient for me and fits my narrative, dammit!
Everyone’s a ride or die capitalist until it comes to gas prices. Then it’s all “da komrad prices are too high for the people. Government should step in.”
I don’t know if it’s the proportions or styling, but the Trax is the most depressing looking vehicle you can buy IMO. Maybe it’s the sad attempt to look rugged combined with knowing that it’s actually little more than an obese econobox.
My wife is gonna kill me for forgetting to put this in the original post.
any time I let my wife take the car to get inspected.
It’s the “good times will never end” of low gas prices that happens every decade or so. I got premium for less than a dollar in the late 90s and it regularly stayed between $1-2 on average and creeped up to $4-6 in 2008. It’s how you got V10 Ford Excursions with 10mpg and no one blinked. Then the small car boom in…
It seems the theft was found proactively by the dealership. Why would they want to hide that? What aren’t they saying?
Don’t get me wrong, it’s worlds better than the execution on the Ford F-100 Eluminator concept, but yeah some reworked gauges, an old-school 1DIN stereo with bluetooth, and a rearview mirror that doubles as the backup camera screen (because legally it needs it, even if really doesn’t in reality) and it would be…
For a second, I took this as a fire under my ass to buy an electric car. I have a newer car that I can make some money on in the trade, I’ve already got a 100 amp 240 outlet in the garage, I could use the rebate to offset next year’s tax bill—overall an electric car is starting to make more sense.
The thing is “Democrat who doesn’t support single-payer healthcare and student loan forgiveness” and “Republican who commits borderline treason and wants to create a fascist dictatorship in America” is a huge difference you can’t dismiss with Both Sides are Bad.
