I worked in bank compliance for car loans and leases for a few years. It was amazing the stuff that customers and dealers tried to pull. None of this surprises me.

Why waste capacity and effort building something that barely breaks even when you can do the same and make $10k per unit?
I used to do work like this. we had a guy at the docks that would call when a container ship full of TV/VCR combos would come in, he would tell me what truck and what highway it was on
The US is going full on 1930's, economic collapse, pandemic, robber barrens, gilded age Billionaires, now its time for some good ol’ train robbing.
Lack of Safety Inspections.
Whatever law that allows DRL’s to be installed without automatic headlights. Probably the same one that allows cars to turn on their wipers without turning on the headlights with them, and allows red turn signals.
It is way too easy to get your driver’s license in this country. We need laws that requires more skills behind the wheel and actually keep checking our driving skills well into old age. Just one day of driving around Florida will demonstrate the need for better driver training for new and older drivers.
Ohhh, David.....I usually see very much eye to eye with you, however......
What a miserable penalty box of transportation these are. The handling in the last one I drove could be considered “theoretical”. The engine, while willing enough for around town spurts, and you noticed, just doesn’t think that highway travel is…
2nd gear:
This situation is what happens when you put ALL of your eggs in one basket. Major corporations eagerly jumped at the chance to get into China, share their patents, team up with Chinese companies, make deals with CCP officials, shut down most of the manufacturing plants.... and now we are almost fully…
IMHO, Here’s what people don’t get about this type of vehicle:
This, very well said. I tried semi-hypermiling on the commute and found that it’s actually quicker. Timing the lights so you roll through them when they turn green often resulted in passing the ones who race to the red light.
Everything in moderation, folks. Including moderation.
Is cruising slow in stop-and-go traffic to absorb the shockwaves a dick move now? That’s how I drive, as well as people in manual cars, and after about 10 minutes people will catch on and everything’s moving better
I dunno, the “leaving some space between traffic” on the 405 doesn’t seem that egregious; it’s far better than the folks who will floor it at the first sign of a space and then slam on the brakes when the inevitable stop comes. In fact, I generally try to drive with some “buffer” in stop and go, leaving a bit of space…
I had the other knee scoped 2 years ago. I actually injured this one by favoring the other one.
JFC - there is NO force in this country that needs that kind of vehicle - outside of the military in a fucking WAR ZONE.
5th: yeah those are definitely for the dealership to keep their vehicles charged and not for general public use. Dealers don’t want the general public hogging space on their lots to charge so I definitely see why they went with level 2 instead of level 3.
Facts. Air hammer is my second to last option when a part won’t come free for that reason. Last one being death wheel
