They have better brand loyalty than you’d think, and not even just trucks. Take a stroll through any inner-city underprivileged neighborhood and 99% of cars are old GM products. The core market for GM cars are people like that who do well enough to end up buying a new car.

GM generally has good infotainment and decent powertrains.  Thats 95% of the sale.

Volkswagen will again be at the center of an environmental scandal when it is discovered that the popular ID.4 model is not what it seems. Researchers and whistleblowers will reveal that the “electric” charging port is a dummy unit and that the cars are actually running on highly toxic selenium reclaimed from used

Prediction: MAGA Bros will start to smash or burn EV charging stations.

I thought the answer to everything EV was don’t live so far out in the middle of nowhere.

When you make sleds 4 stroke, you kill a fair amount of the power/weight advantage they have over battery electric ones. Sooner or later, 2 stroke snowmobiles will be outlawed in a bunch of states that actually have a fair bit of a market (Washington, Oregon, California, Colorado, Maine, New Hampshire). Yep, the red

I can see this for recreational snowmobiles where you go out, blast around, come back, load it on your truck and come home again.

That’s true, but at least Tesla (or any other car company) actually makes the car and uses resources to design it, engineer it, manufacture it, etc.

That’s a good comparison. The terrible mpgs on both the carnival and telluride have taken them off my list as options. Otherwise they check a lot of boxes.

We looked at Carnivals because they look really slick but their mpgs are awful. I can push 40mpg driving in eco mode in my new Sienna, and easily get 36mpg driving normally.

Yaris:

To that person who hit that precious GR Yaris...

BMW also announced that owners of affected vehicles will be charged a $60/yr fee in order to not be able to use 3G on them.

Pretty sure that's what the person was describing. Rural white conservatives are the worst commiters of petty crime, especially against ANYONE that's not all 3 (and cis/hetero). The most shocking part of this entire ordeal is that the police weren't part of it.

I need to hear more. From these shevanigans to whatever’s going on with the condo association - it feels like all of my favorite clickbait stolen Reddit story listicles wrapped into one.

Exactly, do you want to keep mining coal and drilling for oil, or work toward getting the world swapped over to EVs and home solar grids. As the saying goes “dont let best get in the way of better”

Plus, even if an operator knows they did something wrong, it’s often not their job—or they may even be forbidden—to fix mistakes. This could have been installed wrong, the operator knew immediately, and then they just flagged it using what every QC protocol they have, and down the line it went until it reached the

I worked in factories for most of my career. Luckily I was in management because if I was on the floor I wouldn’t have lasted a week.

I worked with factories - as an engineer - but not automated ones. A buddy of mine worked on those, dealing with transport systems and bemoaned the number of times someone wanted a smoke break and literally used a wrench to signal that desire. It was big stuff - he said one transport snagged an I-beam and bent it

Here’s my sketchiest.
