1st Gear: Joke’s on them, my yet to be established automaker firm Ghostlabs has every intention of selling 1.4 million Ghostmobiles next year. They won’t be strictly EV, though, as they’ll be a new kind of hybrid that uses Spirit Energy to extend the range.

2nd Gear: There is a good bit on Last Week Tonight about Unions from this Sunday. People here should give it a look; it will describe how hard companies fight unions and how small the penalties are for violating Federal Law in this regard.

I am not a fan of all unions, but I’m thinking Toyota is being a little

So my dad runs a small farm and he was friends with an Amish guy who lived down the road a couple of miles. They always had a friendly joking rivalry about horses vs. tractors. One time my dad was complaining about a tractor being broken down and the Amish guy says, “when a horse breaks down, you can eat it”. A few

Yeah, this terminology confuses me too. Oh well, pedo/potato I guess.

honestly I don’t think the repairability is going to be an issue, if you even have a minor fender bender in a modern car there are so many sensors to replace that the car gets written off as totaled 9 times out of 10. I guess the big thing is going to be if you have a new car have good insurance.

I worked the same job non-union, and then union. I’ll never go back to non-union. Better pay, better benefits, better protections, ability to easily move to other shops if I want, etc etc.

So what’s next, hand it over to Hammond?

It should be $12.5 for any EV with defined capabilities (min range, etc.). There also shouldn’t be any income cap on who qualifies. If the goal is to get EVs on the road to mitigate a climate crisis, do that.

My wife and I are both in unions that help and protect their workers and provide middle class pay and benefits and much better working conditions than the non union identical jobs in the same city. If workers do not like how your union operates the workers have the dues paying power to improve the union.

Strange how nobody ever questions strongly anti-union politicians but any pro-union politicians are instantly vilified.

I feel like I’m being blinded more and more frequently, from behind and in front.

Absolutely. I’m in a no-inspection state, and the clapped out garbage on wheels I see every day is frankly terrifying.

1st Gear: Once again, the stock market is just nonsense hand waving. It’s absolute gibberish to say Rivian, a company with no revenue or products, is worth nearly as much as Volkswagen, one of the most successful car companies in the world.

I smirked. And then I learned something. Good work.

Fuck black soil. It’s a combination of black ink, superglue and babyshit. Showering doesn’t wash it off either, it just turns it back into mud.

Just move to Montana and register it as a side by side and enjoy driving on any state road you want.

When I’m paying for Kandi, I expect a much cheaper stripper model.

Uprated (DOT approved!) lighting. Specifically headlights, low beams. If nothing DOT approved is available, the aftermarket may have a solution in the form of an upgraded wiring harness to get the most out of your potentially dim/crappy headlights.

Tires, tires, tires. Nothing transforms a car’s driving dynamics like tires. You don’t have to buy super expensive tires to improve ride, handling, noise, traction, etc.

I had a 00' Protege, which was a great car but my commute changed and it was fatiguing, and I wanted to delay a new car purchase as long as possible. 1) upgraded head unit to a $100 JVC with bluetooth, hands-free, aux-in, etc. 2) 4 new Kicker speakers 3) added 2 extra 12v sockets to power phone, coffee mug, fan,
