As a marketer myself, I can’t tell you how infuriating it is when someone in a meeting says, “But how do we market to women?” or “How do we market to black people?” I’m like, well, we tell them why our products have more value for them than other products, same as we do for anyone else. Some cishet white men genuinely

As a fellow Black man, I’m not offended, per se, just bewildered.

Targeted marketing makes me nauseous, and it’s only getting worse now that streaming platforms know exactly what race, gender, and sexual orientation you are. As for cultural lingo, isn’t that always how it works, though? Black people or gay people have a phrase unique to us, then younger white people pick up on it,

Yeah my dad (77 years old, worked in the auto racing industry since 1980), always told me that even if a car runs great with 250K miles, someone was in the car using the knobs, handles, sunroofs, door seals, seats, etc for 250K miles. Those are the things you need to check out when you buy a high mileage car. If it

Maybe it’s because I spent so many years designing for mass production, but: I always find the Corvette far more impressive than the Koenigseggs and Paganis. It’s much more difficult, consequential, and just cool to bring technology and performance like this into the five figure sale price and five figure production

Chevy recommends 87 for my Cruze. Check the data logs when running 87 and see how much knock retard it puts in. Run it on 93 and it’s almost zero. Clearly it’s much happier with 93.

(Calming my BITOG rant) - Cheers

I’ve had people come up to me at the pump “You know you’re just wasting money on the premium stuff” while I’m pumping 93 into my upgraded turbo, tuned GTI.   Go away, faceless drone.

Reverse: I grew up around the Erie Canal and actually drank may a beer along side it. I still remember a class field trip riding a boat down it and them having us sing the low bridge song as we passed under them.

A car with over 100,000 miles is a ticking time bomb.

You do not need to buy premium gas for cars that need premium gas. I have heard this so much from people thinking their car doesn’t need it so my forced induction or high(er) compression motor doesn’t either. No your 92 Camry doesn’t need it but other cars do for optimal performance.

That’s a tremendous amount of haulage for a mere two grand.

Because there is almost no tradeoff to obscene power in an EV.

places should start to see these charge points as ways to get people to be a captive audience”

Managed to stay away all year

For context to everyone unaware, this commenter wrote the book on four-wheel drive (basically):

“This allows for relatively long axle shafts, which means the axles’ constant-velocity joints won’t be at too steep of an angle when the suspension is at full droop.”

Cobalt SS Turbo Sedan. No spoiler like coupe.  A real sleeper track car.

Having grown up in a rural area, I appreciate the hell out of what this is. Everybody had a shitty dirtbike growing up, and youd have to spend every fall winterizing the bikes and every spring swearing at the carbs until the bike would start, and then spend all summer annoying the hell out of everyone in the area with
