So my 2016 CX-5, bought it last Aug, just sold it to carvana for 2k more than I paid.  It’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but Toyota has 5500 off MSRP on toyota prius prime’s in the NE region.  That, plus dealer dropped it 1k, plus 4600 tax credit.  Dumped the CX-5, which had 70k miles, for a brand new car for net same

What brand is most ready to do the EV thing? Honda. Toyota has the RAV 4 Prime, and I’m 99% certain they make a big announcement within the year about their next generation all-electric crossover to compete with the Mustang Mach-E, Model Y, Hyundai Ionic 5, the Kia... I think it’s called something like 6? I don’t

Yup. Spent 8 months in our VW camper on our honeymoon drive around the US and Canada. Rolled it, drove it 1000 miles home, insurance totaled it, bought a Vanagon and had that for 14 years. We’re spoiled for not-tenting. Next camper will be only slightly larger and a lot newer than our ‘80. Yikes, that honeymoon started

We did most of our camping at the race track, and Watkins Glen has amazing bathroom and shower facilities!

I was poor and used tires were only $25 vs $125 for new. I went through three used tires in a month before I realized that it’s best to just spend the money to get the quality tires.

Never buy the cheapest tires available!

No Doubt. Trucks and SUVs have long fetched a much wider profit margin for manufacturers than smaller cars of equal size. This is particularly true as most Trucks and SUVs are built on some pretty archaic underpinnings. There is nothing that Radical about a new Ram or F-150 and very little R&D has gone into most

That candle lit dining scene. Wow. This is what they came up with?

I just need a hit from my inhaler of Pabst Blue Ribbon — ah, that’s better.

Having backpacked and hiked SoCal deserts for decades, I thought the heat in Oregon this weekend would be bad but livable...

Someone from the northeast: what’s wrong with the road? I don’t see it

Kind of a fact...street/strip or “race” parts are really meant for racing.  You’ve got to be realistic with yourself about how you’re using your car when making modifications. “I need a street/race transmission, cuz my car isn’t stock” leads to ridiculously harsh shifts that are miserable in daily traffic. That race

At $13k this car is a steal. It’s devoid of anything WE care about, but they aren’t unreliable. Honestly as a consumer good it’s about the best decision out there for a vehicle.

“C’mon, Flash, ol’ buddy, I know them Duke Boys has been drinkin’ again what with playin’ that loud banjo music, you need to get in the car so I can claim to a judge we was in hot pursuit when we enter their domicile!”

I need a 4-seating-row vehicle or else there’s just not enough space for my 3.5 kids and 1.5 dogs to get to soccer practice with all their hockey gear. Not to mention family vacations with a boat on the roof and pulling the 42' camper.  You might not need this to replace your prius for trips to the smoothie bar, but

Are you experiencing low fuel consumption? Just ask your salesman about Stellantis.

I hope the next mail truck looks like this.

I’ll admit that, looking at the responses here, this story was too “inside baseball.” It’s poking fun at how journalists often write reviews about cars they haven’t driven in months. This happens all the time in this industry. They get a huge back-log, and then write a review many months later as if they just drove

The best part about the Escalade is that they haven’t changed the name/naming convention 400 times in the last 25 years.

Wow. $40k and you get a cooler instead of a fridge and a bucket instead of a toilet. If I were going to spend that much I’d go for one of the a-frame style trailers that folds up even smaller and has a proper fridge and toilet. A hell of a lot cheaper too. And hard-sided in case you’re camping in bear country.
