It feels older gameplay-wise, and dungeons are a lot more generic. But the story, setting and characters are stellar. The same could be said about Persona 3, by the way. They hold up incredibly well.

The game has an “easy” combat mode, even if the first boss fight left me sweating. The story, character, setting, and the use of video and audio effects are -fantastic-. I think it’s a very special game, I highly recommend it.

I have no problem at all with this version of Lara. It’s definitely a huge update over the embarrassing teen-enticing, eye-poking giant polygons of the original games, and I like having female protagonists that are more than eye-candy for the players.

The Witcher 3. The main story is very rich, but there are also a hundred more hours of gameplay just exploring every nook and cranny of that world and simply “witchering” around. It has a lot of high quality, hand-crafted secondary quests that don’t feel like the usual “filler” activities of many open world games.

The original Sid Meier’s Pirates!
