Hurtling down the road at 75mph in a thin metal box controlled by a total stranger without a vetted level of prior experience, an uninspected vehicle, and unknown brake/tire quality is the bigger of my concerns.
I made the trip from CA to OK (split off the route then to go see my uncle in Mississippi) in grandma’s old GTO a few years back...all good fun until the engine popped outside OKC and we had to rent a U-Haul and flatbed to finish the drive.
I vote yes on this one
I’m building a house and big shop, and have lots of time and even more projects. Sadly, I don’t have endless money.

The whole time I was driving I thought about how much more realistic it would have been to drive an un-air conditioned 1950 Pontiac or something.
Other than the Silverado, no it doesn’t.
It runs great!
I actually believe that lip protector to be the root source of the fire. Due to the heated debate over whether it should or shouldn’t be left on, I suspect some lip protector haters got really fired up and went to town on the poor Demon.

This, in turn, allows them to spend less on…
As a volunteer at my local track, let me ask “what the hell are these dudes doing?”
yeah, but as soon as the new call-of-duty game comes out, I’m first on line. I got 16 COD games in my closet right now...

I think the cost isn’t so much in the aquisition as much as it’s in the storage costs for those of us living in a city or a burb under the watchful eye of an HOA. (Mine says I can’t store my #2 collectable under a cover in my own driveway.)
If you’re not paying to store or insure an old car, it’s much cheaper. Also, things in rural areas tend to be cheaper, including old cars. Not so much any more, with the internet.
Case in point: on my dad’s property (off the top of my head) are - RX3 SP, ‘41 Ford F1, 37(?) Ford factory stock flatbed, 2 late 30's truck…
