Super Smash Kart.

You should've brought out the EULA sooner. Many are written to technically disallow modding, so that when the day comes the ban hammer can come down mercilessly. JC2s EULA is really progressive in that regard.

Well the ARMA modder was one of the devs, so that's an advantage. What I'm trying to say is that Avalanche could've said "We don't want your mod on Steam/in the public." That would've probably been the end of it. Lots of franchises have been blocked like, such as Star Wars and Lord of the Rings mods. Luckily Avalanche

It does come across as French.

Crushing castles actually. Also there are some gameplay differences that really change up how the game plays. Still doesn't make Angry Birds the game that had the idea first, but it's not a real copy (such as the original Giana Sisters or some of those Chinese knock-off games).

I was not trying to say that Avalanche had anything to do with the development. As the article states, Avalance gave the mod its blessing early in development. With a few exceptions, EULA's are always written to potentially disallow projects like this. They could've sent a Cease and Desist before the mod team even

Here in the Netherlands it's become sort of a tradition for at least one channel to air the Lord of the Rings trilogy during the Christmas season. Has LotR become a Christmas tradition for channels in other countries as well?

It was very smart of Avalanche Studios to allow this mod to get on Steam. If they do a sale for JC2 anytime soon I expect it to top the chart.

This is why digital is so awesome. Before a game had to be a classic to get a rerelease (think Super Mario All-Stars). Now even commercial failures like Mark Ecko can try to win some hearts years after release.

When even the designer of Mario and Donkey Kong is getting hit by content claims...

I just see a fuzzy Stewie Griffin.

Ah, ok. On the same page now.

Where was the ASCII dick art?

Marketing to casuals is going to be a lot harder for the Wii U than for the Wii. They made a loss on the U at release and after the price cut even more. The GamePad alone is around 1/3 the production cost of the entire console. So they can't drop the price as far as the Wii could.

Well it won't be able to reach Wii levels of sales. It doesn't have the novelty of the motion controls and the GamePad makes it too expensive. And that makes it not very attractive to casual gamers. Casuals were like 25%-50%, if not more, of the Wii's audience. Good games that can't be found on other consoles (JRPGs,

Don't know. When the 360 and PS3 were released they had state-of-the-art hardware, which you couldn't match for anywhere near the price. The One and PS4 on the other hand can be matched by a custom build around the price of the One and are blown out of the water by really high-end PCs.

I know what you mean. Hotline Miami can look prettier than the latest CoD to me.

Dear Kotakuans, what's do you consider the video game character that influenced gaming the most, for better and worst, in 2013?

This is good news for preservation. When all the 360s have RRODed than the people of the future will at least have the ability to see a bit of what Halo 4 was through a PC emulator.

Are there less console exclusives these days? I can play or will be able to play most of these games on my PC.
