dead thread resurrection sorry. What’s with the mesh vanes/fins/panels on back? Obviosuly I’ve seen them before, but why those over conventional fins?

interesting.... as an upside, a pure gunship version could get to an area of operations almost as fast as a warthog, but could then literally loiter/hover etc... would need armor though. Gosh that’s an expensive cobra.. Instead, why not just let the USMC get all the A-10's higher ups want to kill. They could keep up…
