Some day I hope they go Spelljammer on this shit and make it actual Elder Scrolls in space. Just embrace the insanity of the premise and run with it, would be amazing.

It is always tough to play these games on a console. The Bethesda stuff has been some of my most played games over the course of my entire life but I just can’t handle the experience without it being on PC specifically for game breaking shit like that. Its so damn easy to lose enthusiasm for a 50 hour+ savegame

Evil Dark Urge doesn’t feel that great, honestly. But that might just be because of how tough a good evil campaign is. Its not as bad as BG 1 and 2, and while you only get one new evil companion, she’s actually a very interesting evil character (until Act 3 where she stops doing/saying anything unless its about Orin).

It is a LOT easier to resist the urge to scum on your second playthrough when you’re not trying for anything too specific with your character. Also helps when you’re more prepared for the game so you know on a meta level you can handle a surprise fight or something else from a failed roll.

Dark Urge Dirge club! My dirge was a dragonborn though. Did a different skin combo than the default, but felt it was a good enough time to try out being a scaley. Very jealous of how cool of a moment you had with that type of character. For me it was a lot of “fuck you mammals.” While the animation for dragonborn is

Most of these other ones are smaller chains that might only have like 1 or 2 locations in a state, but they all have cultural cache in the US (especially the suburban midwest) of being “fancy” so they have crazy markups. Everything on that list is like CF, massively overpriced. They almost all are “event” style

Good or evil Urge also really makes the game feel like a continuation of BG 1 and 2. Its also one of the few times the “evil psychopath” actually fits and seems well written instead of just cartoonishly evil. I mean, you are cartoonishly evil as the Urge, it just makes sense instead of feeling out of place.

Fucking brutal when that happens if you don’t know its coming. What’s worse is it happens even if you’re doing a good guy urge (which is actually pretty fun).

I feel like it was supposed to be all these different pieces adding up for us to realize our protector isn’t as good a person as he tries to make us think he is, so siding with Orpheus feels like a better choice. The Emperor even gets outright aggressive if you refuse the new tadpole too strongly, some choices leading

I want to at least earn a sweet happy ending, not just have things happen. As other people have mentioned, they set up so many options for Karlach and even a few other companions that they just don’t follow through on. They have so many other things in the game you have to do a lot of steps, pass a lot of checks, take

There’s definitely some very annoying limitations about the finale. I get it shouldn’t be easy, but if you’d done enough shit to build trust you should be able to convince him to trust you and find a way to get Orpheus to help you without killing him. Something as simple as just Orpheus agreeing to not kill the

The entire thing about connecting her to the Steel Watch felt so weird to have no payoff. If they were just going to use it as a way to show that Gortash made a better engine after her, that’s one thing. Although earlier stuff made it sound like Zariel created the engine, so I guess maybe Gortash sold slaves to Zariel

I will say, I definitely preferred the idea of Karlach being so focused on her freedom she refused to go back to Avernus no matter what and would rather have a short time with friends. I’d rather it be more ambiguous about her fate, or that you’ll travel with her to try and fix the problem (or another NPC will). Gale

Agreed. I saw the 20th anniversary 10 years ago (fuck how has it been 10 years) in an IMAX without 3D and it was phenomenal. I was much too young to see it in theaters originally, so this was a treat. The movie holds up so well, and the sound in particular just sticks with you. I still remember that t-rex roar to this

While I agree with the sentiment, if someone is going to buy a game day one they might as well get it as cheap as possible. It is unfortunate that last minute preorders for people who are only interested in pre-loading still gets lumped in to publishers touting pre-order successes.

You forgot to mention Warlocks can get Beast Speech as an invocation, and they get enough of them over the course of the game it won’t feel like a waste. Also there are potions for animal speaking that are incredibly common in the game and quite easy to make. The first vendor you meet in the Druid’s Grove should even

She was good as creepy J-Horror style Enchantress, but in addition to the entire storyline of her character going generic supervillain, she absolutely could not pull it off and just came across as ridiculous.

It definitely is shocking. I wonder how much of his stalled out career is because people started having incredible expectations of him off the bat as the new “dark sci fi” master just off of a single movie. Also could just be incredibly bad luck, and if any of those first projects had gotten off the ground, like

And when the last NPC in the world is dead...they’ll turn their unholy blade upon themselves. Only then shall their dark Father be really confused and go “That boy ain’t right.

As much as I enjoyed the game, you’re spot on with how it came up with so many interesting ideas, and then just fucking moved on. A lot of great material could have been delved in to, and the team behind the game is capable of it, but I think they used “It is all from Clive’s perspective” as a crutch and it just made
