What’s hilarious about this COTD is that I’m still grey over on the main site, so my “thanks” went unseen. XD

WOO! First QOTD! Thanks everyone. :D
Now put a single F1 carbon ceramic brake on it and watch it disappear. MAGIC!
Stop it so hard the rust all falls off.
Good to hear on the wastegate side. My TCM went out twice while I had the lease, both were covered under warranty, and they covered the wastegate too. But I believe that may have been a “known issue” they took care of, because the design changed slightly in 2012, and when I got my new one, they replaced a whole bunch…
Did you have any issues with the wastegate or transmission control module? Or did they finally work those out?
What model year? I had a 2011 SE Turbo in that exact color.
Number of seats. Fit and finish. Ride height. Sleeper. Many reasons. Plus, the LSx also exists in other cars instead of just the ‘Vette.
Your family seems very grounded to the ground.
I literally cannot express how badly I want one of these. It does everything I wanted to do with my Fiero, only lighter.
Make it some kind of experimental turbocharged motor, maybe, say, I dunno, a straight six? Call it a Reciprocating eXperimental (RX)-6.
$800’s not bad, and if you have the 5-speed, you could get the trans for around $200-$500 on the used market, depending on where you are. Dropping the trans doesn’t much require a lift in these cars as it does a couple of truck jackstands (higher lift) and a high-lift jack. Use a standard floor jack as the trans-jack…
Depending on year, nothing on your Miata is expensive unless you aren’t doing the work yourself.
Mine will allow you to start with the clutch let out, but only if the shifter is in the neutral position. If the shifter is not in neutral, the clutch has to be depressed. But mine’s also not stock, and the wiring for that was tricky as hell for me to figure out since I’m not an EE. But I finally got it working.
This is the kind of answer I was hoping for. Much appreciated! Granted, I googled about 5 minutes after posting, but it’s nice to have it here, too, for people who’re less inclined to look shit up.
How does it improve accuracy, for the uninitiated?
Suck air in to cool the brake discs.
Not sure if replied yet, but I’m guessing they’re flattened for cruise on the highway and indented for non-cruise where the brakes are being used, the bowled shape helps suck air in to cool the discs.
Man, I hate the Camero, too. But dat Camaro? I’d drive it.
It won’t. At least I hope it won’t. It’s my daily driver while I work on the Fiero. And I need at least another 2 years for the Fiero.
