Here's a real life Baja Fiero I snapped a pic of down at Laguna Percebu, south of San Felipe, back in 2005. I will never forget it, because it stood out as such genius. RWD, mid-engine, cheap, short WB - hack the fenders, basic roll cage in place of shitty roof, add big tires - BOOM! Modern & simple baja bug.

What's your all-time favorite off-road race vehicle (that you've driven and/or raced in)?

What's your all-time favorite off-road race vehicle (that you've personally driven and/or raced in)? Maybe a short explanation of why? Thanks!

I don't' follow F1 very closely anymore...what chassis is that? Those "tusks" seem to look pretty awesome. Either that, or the look is just different from every other F1 nose I actually remember, and thus my reaction was strangely positive...

I, too, came here to say this. And now for some sweet 1996 footage with Japanese coverage, and highlights of Celica and Escudo hoonage:

Crack Pipe all the way. A shitty Fabtech lift on a torsion bar suspension 4x4, with 194k miles?? And yeah, triple bypass shocks and a bed cage add very little when the front end still only has 8 inches of travel. This thing is all show and not a lot of go, in the way of off-roading (okay, motor swap is not bad).

We have the 10509 on a VESA mount. It's a really cheap mount, and I had no problem lining it up. The thing I find is that the screws that come with the mounts (or maybe some monitors?) are never the right length and you have to cram washers or spacers between the bracket and monitor to not bottom out the screws.

The 105o9 Monoprice was a screaming deal when I got it Cyber Monday for $300 +tax, free shipping on Rakuten. Seems like you maybe had your comments mixed up on the two Monoprice 27" monitors, but I could be crazy - the 10509 has the controls on the back also, and does have an input switch button (oh, now i see you

Ha.

Cheap is relative. Stripped down (i.e. XL trim) truck models will be around for quite a while: work trucks and fleets will keep using stripped down trucks, and new models get cycled in to reduce overall cost of ownership.

As a life-long truck (AND car) guy, and one who used to drive a truck every day to construction jobsites, I hate running boards. Besides my personal preference, they sure as hell shouldn't be included in the "All Terrain" package! Should only be in the package for "Families with Young Children" or "Aging Retirees With

I couldn't pass up noting the irony of reading "through" your last sentence. :-) I also agree with your post.

I just figured out that I could hold my breath for over 13 minutes.

Some of the up-armored HMMWVs are even more than that. I worked on a few projects in past years related to the development of a HMMWV replacement, and the amount of performance increase in ballistic and blast protection of these new designs is staggeringly better than the after-thought up-armor applique kits on

That is awesome. As an avid SD County off-roader (with young kids, too), and long time visitor to Ocotillo Wells, I can say that we are lucky to have our SoCal deserts and trails, and lucky to have such a strong off-road community. My hat certainly goes off to these volunteers, and the people fighting for safe and

You read my mind.

My dad always called that the "eventual left". Kinda like a broken clock being right twice a day, it is pretty likely that they will indeed turn in the indicated direction, at least once during this trip.

BMW E46 (and probably others) Climate Control. Not intuitive. Took major research for me to figure it out, and even then, I can't get my wife to understand it and stop messing with it when she drives my car:

That '89 would've at least had a fighting change in NP/CP competition. Good find.
