The mini-series is so far very faithful to the book. And then ending of the book is COMPLETELY different than the movie.

Um,
How is NO ONE Talking about what Antin is truly famous for????
Actually, no.
If they're going by the book, no. They do not stay together. I, too fell victim to the DVR dropping the end.
That's because his prodigious knowledge is the only positive thing they ever let the kid do and even THAT'S kind of annoying.
No, I get that he's got social issues that are part of the disorder. I'd just like to see LESS of Max's tics that make him so difficult to deal with and more of what makes him this "great kid" everyone keeps talking about.
And can both his parents STOP with the "buddy"?
Sure, but even with expensive fertility treatments, there are no guarantees. And the doctor said it's unlikely. The doctor didn't say "With treatment it may be possible." And it's not just about ending up with a kid. It's pregnancy, nursing, the bond of a biological child. Sure. Adoption is a viable option, but…
Several things bugged me about this ep.
1. Zeke's oppressiveness around Sarah's script. Once the script was in RD's hands I really needed him to back the fuck off.
2. So, does Max ever have a say in what happens to him? I mean, for all their posturing about "what's best for Max" did they ask HIM how he felt about…
Hey, you know, just because people are affluent, doesn't mean that the knowledge that they can't have any more children isn't absolutely heartbreaking for them.
We'd all like to think Deena was acting altruistically. But, chances are she was throwing a C-block. It's telling that her friend accused her too. Which means she's probably done it before.
Who decides what's in good taste? If you don't want to watch it, turn it off.
interesting
Something that really struck me:
FUCKING UGH!
"I'm alone now. It's not a good feeling."
So,
When Cub's 3rd Baseman Aramis Ramirez first came to us, and was hitting homeruns every other time he was up, I really wanted them to create a Highlander animation that featured him hitting the ball and that ball decapitating the pitcher and then thunder, lightening and then the words "THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE!"
How did…
Phil's threatening Rob and David with the USA not make it to Stray Observations. Hell, can we just get a transcript of all his talking heads???
Indeed.
Great write-up Todd. For serious. Chills and choked up.
Well done.
Ok
If you watched the End of Days special last week, then this week's ending should be no surprise at all. The writers/cast/producers clearly mean for all of us to look at Bill as a hero. And, there is room to do that in a way. If you discount most of last season.
"If I knew Tom was gonna be at the club, I'd bring like 15 Rogers and shit all over him".
"Sensually eating sandwiches". *vomit* But also awesome.
Seriously. Although, with all the money these asshats get paid now I suppose they CAN be choosy. Although, any decent girl both pretty AND smart would run screaming in the other direction. Gross.
