Thanks for that! I was curious as to where exactly he went. Now I have another blog to read!

I’ve always thought the same, but coming from someone that has never worked under a union, I’ve had to admit that I just don’t know enough about them to have a proper opinion. With that said, based off the evidence at hand, I can’t see a reason for them to exist either. Once-upon-a-time? Sure. Now? Nah.

It all kinda

Agree, remember, its always ‘morning’ somewhere. Jell-o-piknik doesn’t state WHERE its Morning Shift is based...

I foresee this as becoming a type of capitol punishment.

Wow, I did not even notice that lol! Now I will never NOT notice it haha

You’ll note I said *anymore*. The above current models of both cars look nothing like the SS apart from having a chevy bowtie and 4 doors.

I take it you’ve never sat in one or driven one? As has been stated already, GM Holden build quality does not equal GM North America build quality.

*Which doesn’t even really look like an Impala or Malibu any more...

I think it was (not) Thomas Paine that (never) wrote ‘tis better shredded by your air bag a free man than to...’

Train is likely faster, however, the amount of carried goods on the train vs the ship likely make the ship still the better option. The amount of goods carried vs time taken probably put the boat way ahead despite taking longer.

I vote we officially nominate this for COTD.

Yeah lol, its one of those ‘jack of all trades, master of none’ situations...

Ah, okay, so it very well may have happened that way then. I’ve never been to the place apart from having flown into it once.

Another article I read on the matter suggested that the Jeep did not go through the main gate, rather, crashed through the perimeter fence somewhere out in the sticks, hence how they wound up on the flightline.

Yeah, ill support that notion.

One could also argue that by selling 3k of them in the US each year, it is profitable for them as the Aussie government is subsidizing Holden, and without the SS, or any other export, they wouldn’t be.

Oh, I never said I wasn’t proud of it. I just simply said that to normal people who could mostly care less about cars, it isn’t worth the time trying to explain it when they ultimately won’t care after they walk away. I honestly quite like the fact that it isn’t over the top and shouty. It’s a sleeper. It’s one of

I’ve gotten to the point when people ask if my SS is a Malibu or Impala, I just answer yes to both questions. It’s just easier that way.

The car was only brought to the US to satisfy the Australian government’s requirement that certain numbers of commodores be exported. This requirement was part of the government subsidizing Holden.

Yeah, might as well just go to a closed cockpit. Honestly, I think more people identified F1 by the insane sounds of the V10 and V8 engines, rather than open cockpit cars. And we all know the current arguments about the sound F1 cars make now.
