Well it was a flop because it was a bad story. The ingredients were good, but the writer did not agree with the anime as it was completely different from the real story and meaning. The first one was nonsensical typical shonen bs without even knowing what the story was about. It was fun sure, but a mess.

Brotherhood ( FMA:B = nr. 2 ) was the original story as made and intended by the writer of the manga. The first FMA was an attempt to follow it, but it had alot of artistic freedom and deviated from the manga entirely from the first episode as the writer ( Arakawa Hiromu ) wasn’t ready yet! The first alchemist series was a flop ( apart from a few episodes. ) it didnt make sense. The real story aka Brotherhood made sense from both an alchemic/esoteric and symbolic viewpoint. The story was a whole and not molested by bad screenplay.

This is just plain wrong. They should never have made this movie to start with. Let 2D stay 2D unless you do it with a huge budget, stay true to story and plot and have good actors.

That’s the problem with dubs all the way though. Japanese VA’s are just better in everyway. That’s not to say the english VA’s are always bad, but the quality differs alot. I just hope there is a japanese version.
