Agreed. They have done some awesome alternate Doctors on audio, and it would be cool to see some alternate universe female Doctors, or even some female time ladies brought into the show.

Thanks, I do my best.

You know, I really don't think the female companions have been arm candy in a long time. Honestly the last female companion I can think of that really came across as little more than scenery was Peri, and even she had her moments to shine. I think the arm candy analogy really fit a handful, not the majority of the

My main argument was the larger one that I posted. I already responded to the "why not" argument in that breakdown. Again, theoretically I am not opposed to the idea, I just wonder if it is going to have the impact people think it will.

I can already see the scene in the movie where a child, cornered by a zombie, sends a dart at its forehead...and then is devoured.

Pat Troughton's son David has done an impression of his father for several audio plays, and with the right wig looks much closer.

So Action News is the opposite of actual news?

Short answer: because just because a thing can be done, doesn't mean it should be done.

"The BBC should seriously use Bradley to refilm any lost First Doctor episodes. He's perfect!"

Like me, you'll probably finish your DVD collection just in time for the blu-ray release :-(

I would set my DVR for that!

And I’d just like to add, I do understand that there are some cool plotlines that could be approached with this, and there is always the possibility that it could be done well, and done in a way that is both empowering to women and successful as a show, but honestly, looking at the direction the show has taken

I’d like to weigh in a bit about the Doctor becoming a woman.

Also, in Paradise Lost the chains used to bind Lucifer were described as Adamantine. I always assumed there was some kind of literary connection here as well for the comics.

Agreed. One of the defining features of Adamantium is that it is indestructible. I highly doubt this new alloy can boast this feature as well.

money, it's all money.

True, but then let's come up with a new format for this channel that deals with both in equal doses. Mix hard sci-fi and fantasy shows together, but give both equal time.

Agreed. It's like how the History channel used to show history, not just reality shows about pawnshops and loggers. Not that those are not entertaining sometimes, but it's not what one looks for on history. Still, there is history international...for now.

Should have clarified. I think there is lots of good sci fi out there, but it would probably cost them more than they would get in advertising to show it.

Yeah, they face the same problem as the 24 news shows. There just isn't enough good sci fi out there to fill a channel 24 hours a day. So anything even marginally related ends up there.
