I agree, the Crown screwed up. They didn't prep their witnesses well enough, and they should have had expert testimony on how people deal with trauma, to counter the defence’s bullshit arguments about how the women Ghomeshi attacked didn’t act like victims are supposed to.

It’s heartbreaking that your daughter has to deal with that garbage at such a young age. It sounds like you handled it really well. I like your approach of telling her fat isn’t something you are, it’s something everyone has, and will definitely be using that when I need to have this conversation with my kid. 

I have the opposite concern - if I wear a shirt that says something, someone might try to strike up a conversation about it. Not worth the risk! 

Though anyone who pays $89 for 3 cardboard boxes has too much money as well as too much stuff. I can’t be mad at her for taking advantage of the opportunity. 

This is kind of funny, because in her book she says that storage systems are for hoarders, and if you buy storage stuff you are basically lying to yourself and hiding your clutter. 

I 100% agree. I haven’t spoken to my father in years, and I know he complains to people about how his kids are so mean and don’t care if he dies. He won’t acknowledge that it’s his awful behaviour that has led his family members to cut him off.  

Thank you for sharing this. You and your wife did the right thing in an awful situation, and your daughter will always know that her parents are on her side and will be there for her no matter what. It can’t be easy to write about this, but it is so incredibly valuable for other parents and caregivers to hear it.
