Ya, but maybe it should be. For me, I always think about all the legal fire Microsoft starting taking back in the late 90's, for things like including IE w/ windows. Never said you couldn't design and distribute a competing browser, or download and use a different browser, they simply included there own. Now we've

So how long before Bob Hope buys one for the Sea Shephards? Maybe if they paint it black the Japanese will mistake the volcano for a blow whole? And they can use the drop down doc to launch there "attack" ships. It's not difficult to envision Paul Watson shaking his fist in anger from under the cabana.

I suspect there's at least one or two eccentric gazillionaires out there just tacky enough to buy something like this.

Sorry Ridley Scott. While I think Prometheus looks intriguing, and I probably will try to go see it, it'll be a 2D screening or nothing at all.

One of the best analogies I ever heard was from a computer security guy who said "Windows PCs are like a house w/ 3 deadbolts on the doors and bars across the windows, but it's sitting in the worst neighborhood in town. Macs don't have any locks and the windows are wide open, but it's sitting out in a pleasant

I was just thinking the same thing

I've got a circle for Giz writers. Most of them you can find on there.

Yet one more reason why I've always liked T-Mo and have been a loyal customer for years. To bad they're about to get devoured by the Death Star.

LoL. I'll take your word on that. But for J2SE and Android projects it's awesome.

I'll give you that Apple has the track record for getting content providers to wake up and accept the digital age. That said, even if they got Hulu, and got the networks and production companies to play along, it would all be inaccessible to all of us that don't worship at the iStore. I'd rather see it go Yahoo and

Well, it'll still be up to the developer. They can choose to utilize this approach, or create a separate app in the market like you see now on some of the so called "HD" tablet versions. Let's hope the desire to please customers and minimize confusion pushes them to adapt this new approach.

True, but I think any developer who wants his stuff to work on as many devices as he can will take advantage of this. It's actually easier to modularize your software than to try and maintain one version that attempts to handle everything.

+2

Dude, I love Eclipse. Sure it's got it's issues, but so do the big $500 IDE's, and it's free.

Actually this solves a lot. Particularly for designing apps to work well on both phones and tablets, where the res textures are probably going to be different. If you loading the app on your phone, why would you want to eat up memory w/ files/code your not going to use? Any developer worth his salt should be

Same can be said for Android. I have apps that work fine on both my phone and my Xoom.

Not condoning his actions, but as a guy living in a town where every chick ran off and married some dude in the air force or army before they hit 20 I can relate.

Not Zuckerberg's style. But I could see Jobs doing it.

Nope. Texas is very similar to Colorado (where I live). The county asses the value of the property on there own and bases the property tax on that. You can dispute it, usually based on comps, but no way this situation will fly as an assessment of value. Plus, would it technically work in California? Ownership

Hopefully he can afford the property taxes.
