You appear to care just as much, if not more than the reviewer. Or maybe you don’t care and you’re just being paid by Universal to defend the movie.

Ah. I see I’m truly dealing with the star of the varsity debate squad here.
notjon is correct, and you are not
Ahh... the “you knew it was a snake when you picked it up, so don’t be surprised when it bites you” school of criticism!
Do you think this review was written by an AI? Have you completely switched arguments from “This review was written by someone who cares too much” to “This review was written by an AI”?
How DARE the film critic try to tell the audience if a film is good or bad?! It’s almost like they think it’s their job or something!!!!
welp, we’ve found the one Madame Web fan out there.
Mark Wahlberg attempted to mumble some form of apology when he was trying to open a burger joint a couple of years back and found out that his felony hate crime wouldn’t allow it. His past misdeeds will never be undone.
“...the avclub where past misdeeds can never be undone...”
This sealioning crap is just boring, don’t act like a coward, just admit you don’t think hate crimes and hate speech aren’t a big deal. Not sure how acting like a complete moron helps your cause.
besides the hate crimes and the hate speech? Middlebrow action flicks, mostly redbox stuff.
Seriously, why must repeatedly acting like a sack of shit give a guy a reputation??
Except that the CW’s 58-year-old audience was watching the CW! Clearly they (we) liked that programming, even if it was ostensibly targeted at a younger audience. Rather than stick with what drew us to the network, they’re going to give us the same crap we could have watched elsewhere if we had wanted to.
It seems weird to suggest that Pixar has been bad recently unless you just mean in terms of box office:
I appreciate the cultural perspective, but you’re talking to one of the painfully white, painfully New York hipsters whose worldview begins in Manhattan and ends in Brooklyn and who believes their socio-cultural world view is the only correct one.
Luca and Turning Red were both brilliant. Soul didn’t quite live up to its potential but was still a good time. Even Elemental was surprisingly good despite its horrible ad campaign.
I saw Turning Red first and preferred it over EEAAO. Go figure!
My 2- and 3-year-old daughters watch Turning Red (or as they call it, Red Panda) about 5 times a week.
Turning Red
I haven’t seen Luca, but Turning Red was a blast, and I liked, Soul, too.
