:)

Yeah, chair covers can be hokey and an unconvincing attempt at looking high end, but sometimes a venue's chairs look like absolute shit (cough *"country club" where I worked in high school*)

Colin Firth might be the only human being who might render Mr. Omaha obsolete...

That dress is gorgeous. Love the idea of wearing blue or blush if I wasn't planning on wearing my mother's ivory number from 1985 :)

Yeah...my sister just got engaged and of course plastered obligatory photos all over Facebook. I'll probably be getting engaged soon as well and I refuse to post photos of my ring online. Tacky, tacky, tacky. Can't wait to shut down anyone who asks me to post it on FB.

omg, FUCK. SHOWERS. so hard.

"old white folks who listen to Fox News and believe the Apocalypse is coming soon"

I think this may be my new favorite Daily Show segment of all time for the first time since 2005's "Mass Hysteria" (following the Massachusetts Supreme Court ruling in favor of gay marriage).

lol, I said myself they are white girl accoutrements. But excuse me, since I guess they aren't the warmest available (despite their practicality for everyday use) and you guys don't like them, I'll go stock up on professional expedition gear used in Antarctica or some shit.

ooh, also scored a fab Badgley Mischka one-piece swimsuit from HauteLook...I know I sound like a commercial for it, but dayum, it is a gold mine sometimes!

Fine, but personally, my top priority in the middle of winter is "not freeze my f'ing tits off" and other, more sartorial concerns are secondary. The BF doesn't seem to mind.

Haha! Well, my favorite pair of black leggings currently is a pair of French Connection leggings I got off HauteLook.com. It's an email signup deal through Nordstrom that offers discounted deals on various high end items for a limited time. I highly recommend it for a variety of items. I've gotten some cute Givenchy

I realize that, just trying to illustrate the practicality issue. And as to your other comment, that's nice and somewhat understandable, but please also bear in mind that sometimes ladies wear things for reasons other than your entertainment - however, that's a discussion for another day/thread.

Well, that in itself is an entire feminist discussion for a different thread/day.

Well, shockingly, sometimes I wear those too. Sometimes I wear other things. Just saying, aforementioned white girl accoutrements can be practical.

Thanks for the tips on what to wear so I can meet your preferences, but I'll stick to doing what the fuck I want. I'm not going to stop wearing warm, comfortable boots that I personally like because "99% of the world wears them" (which is demonstrably false :) )

Are we sure they didn't poorly photoshop pictures of Kim and Khloe together...?

North Face, leggings, Ugg boats = extremely fucking comfortable/warm things. Better than walking around in heels you can't walk in, shivering your ass off in a skirt on campus (at my Big Ten school in Nebraska), ya dig? My stereotypical white girl accoutrements are stereotypical but practical.

Better: having grandparents who divorced prior to your birth. All the doubling of gifts, none of the emotional trauma.
