It really depends on the diocese, for sure. Lincoln, NE has one of the most conservative dioceses (?) in the country and my parents left the church shortly after my mom converted to have a Catholic wedding with my dad. Lincoln Catholics are very conservative/self-righteous.

Knowing Deb Fischer is my Senator makes me want to hulk out. FML
