A constant news story is a stretch, but there’s been more than a few dozen stories about how wronged he is. I get it, it sucked. But how long will this narrative be kept alive?

You are free to not subject yourself to the stories. Just a thought.

Jesus, I agree. How many more stories will we be subjected to of this? He got traded, it sucks, but it happens a hundred times a year. Why is IT suddenly a martyr?

Can someone with more knowledge than me tell me how a “pay to stay” jail is remotely constitutional? The fact that it is ethically appalling I get, but how is it legal?

It’s not even that they’ll pass away. Someday they’ll realize their parents are simply old. That they will be the ones providing care, organizing things. Once their parents hit their 70's everything becomes so much harder.

This is your chance. Hotel it! Best decision I ever made. I can come and go as I please and enjoy my space. Hell, the best part is hanging at the hotel with your other like minded siblings.

Yes, espn and basic cable are feeling the brunt of cord cutting, but regional stations are feeling the effects too. And it’s only getting worse. The demographics are staggeringly bad for cable. Who do you think adds premium channels as subscribers die off or move? It’s basic subscribers as they age and start earning

Great read thanks. Although BAMtech was mostly sold to Walt Disney after the article was written, with the value at around $4 billion, not $12 billion as he estimated. How much that cuts into yearly revenue is something I don’t know. Also at the time it was written it was still the assumption that TV rights deals

To be fair, it’s exam week at UNC. Sometimes a student athlete just doesn’t mentally show up to a game after spending the day physically not showing up to their exam.

I get revenue sharing, but that is off set by their awful stadium net profits. Let’s say $50 million each respectively. However the more one goes up, the other goes down. Add in $20 mil local tv, $50 mil national revenue, guessing $10 million to other media and that’s $170 million. Let’s add $30 from who knows where

It boggles my mind that USA Gymnastics hasn’t been blown up and re-started from scratch. They have one fucking job, and they’ve fought doing it every step of the way. Yet their CEO still has his job, as do the vast majority of scum who work there. Burn it to the fucking ground.

+1

Governments spend billions of stadiums for private use here. We spend millions on our Olympians while turning a blind eye to the fact that every single medalist uses PEDs. We give anti-trust exemptions to leagues that rake in billions.

A stable secular democracy elects a guy, who while a bit conservative and disdainful of civil liberties, at least promised a return of national pride. Sure some of his more extreme views might be cause for concern, but the nation had a strong liberal constitution in place to safeguard against this. Nothing to worry

Why is it an “enormous” difference? Allowing corporate sponsors to finance it somehow makes it more ethical?

The simple truth is that is was a poor fit that was way over-priced and could only end in disaster. His pool that is.

Can we talk about how in the hell the Miami Marlins were sold for $1.2 billion? The new stadium is nice but that means little if they can’t fill it, and that includes luxury boxes. The main source of income is local TV and Miami’s deal is easily the worst in the league. It comes up for renewal in 2020 and they

Before I read this, I think we need to define “useful.”

Bar business. Perfect place. Poor lighting, high volume, oftentimes bill is even wet.

I guess I was half kidding. I take them to bank. But it’s frustrating as hell. Tempting.
