While every one at DA is having a very Merry Christmas, the police must feel like they've been played by the DA crowd over this Greene murder. I don't think they're going to take it all laying down. Tavern owner Salter can expect a police investigation into his background and veracity.

I just don't know. Could have an extradition agreement but if fugitives were not found and arrested, then it would exist in name only?

Not claiming to be an expert on English-Irish history. However, the Irish Civil War (1922-23) which resulted in the Irish Free State, an entity independent from the UK, but within the British Empire, left Irish society divided and embittered. The war may have claimed more lives than the War of Independence that

No George is a Spitfire pilot during the Battle of Britain. There are still a few Spitfires flying in Great Britain these days and I could see one of them, with pilot George at the controls, making a low pass over DA and doing an aileron roll as he pulls up into a steep climb. It would be magnificent!

"Molesley and Baxter devote themselves to tracking down Bates’ alibi, freeing him from suspicion." I don't think so.

Meanwhile, the police are still investigating. What if they find a train ticket seller in York who remembers selling Bates TWO tickets to London on that date that Green was murdered?
Bates better be ready with a good answer.

Notice how focused Bates is on that unused train ticket and how it is THE "proof" that he didn't do Green in. Had I been Bates and IF I had decided NOT to do the foul deed, then as an ex-con I would be smart enough to obtain something more substantial than an unused train ticket to London as the sole proof that I

Having spent time in the pokey, Bates of all people at DA would think of such a ruse.

Of course, Bates could have bought TWO R-T train tickets to London. Used one, killed Green, threw away the torn stub for the return trip, and then kept the second unused ticket in his coat pocket to support this alibi-of-sorts that he never got on the train to London to perpetrate the foul deed of which he is accused.
