And then there are the moralistic do-gooders who think they know better than everyone else. Oh, this person doesn’t want an unnecessary system that controls how they use their own property. They must automatically be the type of person who we are trying to prevent in the first place.

Your high horse is looking a tad

Freedom isn’t free.

You want the safest life experience possible? Give up choice. An authoritarian style leads to a safer life.

So, to answer you inflammatory and bullshit comment. I drive old cars. They are inherently less safe than my modern truck. I realize I could die by drunk drivers, semi trucks driving on unsafe

Pre-collision detection, lane assist, adaptive cruise control, etc if they start failing in ways that affect the vehicle while driving? Now you want a system that will prevent you from driving to be tied into the vehicle?

I had a current gen Colorado that after warranty work on the steering column would not drive

By your logic we need to get rid of anything dangerous because think of the poor kid or parent is going to grieve. Spoiler alert, someone will end up grieving. Someone is going to eat themselves to death. Drink themselves to death. Someone is going to drive through pedestrians on a perfectly clear day all while being

Have to agree here. I don’t drink and drive. I don’t want to pay for it. I don’t want it in my car. I do not want another piece of unnecessary technology that can fail and stop my vehicle from working.

Frankly this seems like a moot point given that self driving cars are going to become more and more viable by the time

911 prices are nuts. Looked at a 77 3.0 carrera last week. 20k sounds like a steal right?
Had a 79 sc euro motor. Was originally a targa but was converted to a cabriolet. Interior was partially disassembled. Interior was very rough, leather was shot, dash had holes drilled in it. Someone had put steel turbo fender

There are some things that are required fot operation. 2 years with a non functional slide is inexcuseable.

I loved my Colorado, when it worked correctly, but after months of fighting GM by the end I just wanted it gone. It took well over a year of dealing with issues and by the time it was all over I got rid of it asap.

The association with all those poor experiences with the vehicle ruins it. Can totally see why the guy

The cries saying the styling were dated when it came out are moot. The car is over 25 years old. How it was interpreted in 94 means nothing. How does the car look today? Given the rising popularity in the C4 it seems opinions have changed.

That said, you still get a cheap interior and a terrible early 90s automatic.

Bought my ranger at the start of the pandemic. 0 percent for 84 months and dealer gave me over 4k off msrp. This summer truck was worth more than i paid. It is still worth more than i paid off on the loan.

I have debated wiping out the loan to not have a payment, but at 0 percent it just doesnt make sense.

That is something people always gloss over. The v6 made sense for the time. The slushbox is what kills it.

Been watching the market for Esprits so Elans come up in my searches. They aren’t getting 20k+. They aren’t even getting 15k+. They sit, and the prices slowly drop. Not sure what the price at which they sell is, but at 12k they sit.

There is a blue one out there right now for 10k, but the clearcoat is shot. I doubt it

This depends on what your metrics are.

If you want a boring, reliable, comfortable, fuel efficient, daily driver than a newer car is better.

If you want the absolutely fastest thing on a track, newer is better.

If you want an engaging, fun, sports car? Older.
Manual steering > Hydraulic steering > Electronic steering

Manual

Except high HP/L leads to a stressed engine. Yes, the 8.0L in my viper is a heavy lump. Yes 56.25 Hp/L is laughably low. It is not even trying and will run forever because of that.

As a fellow MO resident this is where the depends comes in. GF has a Forrester. It is great in light snow at highway speeds. The county I am in can be rather terrible about plowing. To make it worse I live on a hill. When it comes to getting going in heavy snow, 4x4 is hands down better. You don’t want to get going

On the opposite end of the spectrum. I love the v-twin three wheelers. Only thing stopping right now from getting them is the build quality and their value. For what they go for it is tough to justify.

I am not a fan of what I am seeing here. Hopefully morgan improves the quality because the outgoing ones are hilarious

In the market for an az-1 and no it isn’t. Duncan is a bad joke price wise. Not just with AZ-1. Their Beat and Cappuccino prices are laughable. There have been others I have watched sit for 16-20k. BAT and Cars and Bids these do not hit 20 even with pandemic prices.

He is comparing a Gen 1 or Gen 3 to a C5. A Gen 2 viper was its contemporary and has no side pipes. I drive mine every chance I get, not so much as a singed hair, but I do smudge the paint because I put my calf against the rocker panel when I get out.

That *truck engine* is dead nuts reliable. The Gen 2 GTS has racing

For a long time this was true though. Handling improved, but power output took a dive for a good 20+ years. So, if you grew up and remember pre 73 cars power and then years of low output motors it makes sense.

I wear my seatbelt regardless. I hate this *feature*. At some point this starts to fail and your car randonly won't start. I know, had a car with this crap. Also have had GM and their ability to penny pinch guarantees that this will fail for some rather quickly.
