As a Gen II owner, the mechanicals are pretty bullet proof. Cost is lower than my morgan or ferrari outside of some gen 2 specific parts. Gen 1 is going to have more normal parts bin stuff. Also, if you are not trying to be stock and are fine with aftermarket, it gets a lot cheaper.

As someone who owns one why would I want an ev version? It is a gloriously terrible car. Much of the charm is because of the motor.

The car was the tech demonstrator that followed up the Viper. The misunderstanding on Chrysler’s part was more what was the point?

The motor was fine. Had more power than their v8 of the time. The transmission is the performance let down. So it doesn’t handle all that well. It doesn’t accelerate all that well.

Sorry, are we just making things up? Supercars still have to conform to the noise regulations of when they were made. If the owner puts an aftermarket exhaust on and breaks the law, its no different than loud pipes on a motorcycle.

Lawn mowers have to conform to laws. Loud pipes to my knowledge are sold as not road legal due to exceeding noise regulations.

So, if you have a problem with how loud mowers are, talk to your elected officials. Mower companies and your neighbor are following the law.

Have a problem with loud pipes and? The answer

Uh no, it wouldn’t. I have a 99 viper and keep an eye on viper groups for parts. Engines come up fairly often, and they are not 20k with the trans.  The block and heads are the same, but things like the oil pan, water pump, exhaust manifolds, are all different.

Another snowflake that wants to seem like he doesn’t care, but wants to flood the comments telling everyone how much he doesn’t care.

Interstate travel pertains to a car related site. Slant or no slant it is pertinent.

Z06 being rare made me laugh. They made over 39k C7 Z06's. There were more c7 zo6's than dodge vipers ever made.
Even the viper is not all that rare compared to other cars. I have a Mondial QV coupe. They only made 1145 for all markets. As a US model I have seen production between 80 and 260 listed.

Except at one point it wasn’t. I remember when nsx’s were 20k used cars.

It is a classic car. Different ballpark. This appeals to people who lusted these as kids or young adults who couldn’t afford them. The performance does not really matter. The comfort does not matter. It is purely about recapturing a moment they had decades ago.

This isn’t about basic transportation.

Software developer here. My truck is my dd. I live in the midwest. I diy on my house renovations. Up until last year I collected arcade games which I am almost free of. I still need to be able to tow 3500lb cars + trailer on occasion. Of the 24k miles on my truck over half are going to be hauling something. The

Disagree, the type of rider associated with Harley is off putting, but the bikes just do not make sense. They are expensive. The sportster is 15k, but power wise I can get a triumph with similar power levels for 11k. If I just want all out speed a GSX-R1000 will destroy it for the same price.

Why am I shopping Harley

I live on kc. Own a viper. It is very flashy in this area. Any of the exotics are going to have bills. The 355 is higher than a 430 but any ferrari is expensive to buy parts for. I say this as mondial owner.

I work in tech. For most of the us 150k straight out of college is not happening. I am 8 years out and just now getting close to that. This might be the case in silicon valley but for the rest of the us you are dreaming.

Love aircooled porsches, but the prices are crack pipe.

On the cusp of a R8 V8, 348, 308, 328, 308GT4, NSX, etc.

Point being there is a lot of cool cars that can be had that are better than a tired convertible porsche,

Sorry, losing me here? Unsorted handling? Where are you getting your facts. I have yet to come across any mention of suspension changes in the mondial except maybe the T. (First Ferrari to get adjustable suspension if memory serves). The electronics are a pain as the cars have aged. Everything is very easy to fix,

Mondial is utter trash? Same engine and transmission as the 308. Handles better than the 308 due its longer wheelbase. The interior is parts bin ferrari. If you are going to hate on the interior then you have to hate on the rest of the range. The bodies are not rust prone like the earlier 308GT4.

What gets me is the bi turbo is hated, but the shamal is worth money. My understanding is maserati had 0f funds and parts binned the shamal from the turbo.

99 viper driver here. What is so special about 300 hp? My 85 mondial qv has a stiffer clutch pedal with it’s measly 235.
