Alita was pretty good except for the ending and forced set up for a sequel that will never happen. Lets do contained stories for risky projects Hollywood. Not every movie needs to be a franchise.

If Taika is still interested in directing Akira in 2 years, I think Warner Bros should wait for him. Besides Taika, I don’t think there are many directors out there that could handle this type of adaptation besides maybe Matt Reeves or Denis Villeneuve.
