Agreed 100%. This is cruel. Let the child die with dignity. Stop trying to prolong and revive a life that will never be worth living.

As a parent of two kids... Fuck these parents. They have no compassion at all for their child. If one of my kids was in this situation, I would’ve pulled the plug myself to end their suffering. That is compassion, putting aside your own grief and thinking of the child’s suffering.

It’s just awful. I feel terrible for the team at GOSH who are watching this child suffer with their hands tied, while being vilified in the press.

The British Courts and one of the best children’s hospitals on Earth aren’t mad or cruel. There’s a reason for the sequence of judgements that have come down - they’re standing between the the interests of the child and the naturally distraught, desperate parents.

Nah. They’ve had tons of qualified medical opinions that their child is all but dead and the ethical thing is to let him go. They don’t want to believe the truth put in front of them and have actively sought out anyone and anything that will let them keep avoiding it. Selfish.

But I have a terminally ill kid who has a 1 in 2 million genetic disease. If someone gave me 10% odds that there could even be incremental improvement, I would give my own life to try.
