I’ll have you know I don’t bring beer when I go camping. I did have my dad try to make kraft dinner with olive oil once.

I have camped for a long time and the most aggressive animals are always the deer flies. As long as you hang your food high in barrels they usually aren’t interested.

I don’t understand how her face looked dirtier than the rest of her body. I would understand cuts and scrapes but why the dirt? Whatever happened out there was certainly an adventure even if it didn’t involve tricking a wolf.

As a Canadian, I feel like I can say this is the result of too much cheap beer and picking the wrong wild mushrooms.

I have seen wolves out paddling and camping in Northern Ontario and they have always been very timid and disinterested in humans. The further away you get from people, the less interested with engagement they seem. I see more of their tracks and scat then the wolves themselves.

This seems more like “hold my beer” than “this actually happened.”

I find this narrative difficult to believe unless the wolf was suffering from an illness. I have encountered a small number of wolves camping in Northern Ontario over the years. They have always noticed the people noise and smell and left very quickly. I see their tracks and scat far more often than I actually see

I had heard of the incident earlier today and did not have time to think about it. I went out for a hike. I sat down this evening and read the newspaper. I cried.
