Oh Washington, those luscious gams!
Oh Washington, those luscious gams!
I feel your pain. In my department at work, I am the only one who watches Game of Thrones and who knows they're based on a series of books.
I love Varys and the Tyrion/Varys scenes from last season were just brilliant. Littlefinger though, (completely non-spoilery as I've only read the first book) is the one I'm keeping my eye on.
I don't know what's more reprehensible - her backwards attitude towards marriage and gender roles or her overt elitism.
I don't think he's said his son is exception, but rather the reason he's changed his mind on the whole issue. I've worked and volunteered for gay rights organizations and have seen it work both ways. In some families, a child coming out brings the parents to this conclusion but in others, sadly, it brings them to a…
I would TOTALLY watch a hybrid Spartacus/ballet show!
Poor Edith - the Jan Brady of Downton. I've watched Season 3 and have to say, I was surprised at how much I grew to like her. She doesn't have Mary's tenacity or Sybil's willpower, but Edith starts coming into her own. Seeing that she and many women of her generation were 'surplus women' (given the women to men…
It boggles the mind the inane, trite and utterly moronic things this woman says. The thought that to some small portion of the population she represents Hispanics utterly depresses me sometimes.
I've read "Hemingway in Love and War" the collection of letters kept by Ernest from his first love Agnes von Kurowsky and her final letter to him always makes me sad.
Some people also don't live their lives with children as the center of the universe.
I love my wine. I also love my cognac and my brandy. I unfortunately carry some bad genetics when it comes to excessive drinking (4 alcoholics on my mom's side of the family; 3 on my dad's) and always cut myself off at 3 drinks. Tonight I've had a wonderful glass of Riesling, a French 75 and some Cava with Blue…
I'm kicking it old school - plain ol' California dip with potato chips (2 cups sour cream + 1 envelope onion soup mix) as an appetizer, shrimp scampi as a main dish (1 pound shrimp+3 crushed garlic cloves+1/4 cup of olive oil) and a little rice as as a side dish. Served with plenty of Dr. L Riesling (2009).
I felt that way about his death and Whitney's. I grew up listening to both and was gutted by all that Adam could have done in his later years and the years Whitney wasted due to her codependency and substance abuse.
Yep. Whenever I hear Javert, I hear this version of 'Stars'. Philip is amazing.
Sounds totally better than most of what's on network TV now!
I will probably wind up seeing this at some point, but it's going to be damn hard to see anyone other than Philip Quast as Javert. Whenever I hear that man singing as Javert's suicide scene takes place, I get goosebumps. Crowe's always been meh for me, musically and otherwise.
I love me some Wuthering Heights, but I really like to kick it with some Anne Bronte and The Tenant of Wildfell Hall.
