Really? I feel the opposite. I think RTD was better at big picture with each season and Moffat is better with 1-2 off episodes.

After the subpar Monks three-partner, I found this one to be an easy return to not sucky this season and it’s not going to be a “The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances”, “Blink”, “Midnight”, etc. etc. but I found it fun and taking a large page out of Classic Who. Compared to the first 3-4 episodes it’s not as good, but…
