It’s not a shocker that something from 1989 hasn’t aged great. It’s okay to think it wasn’t malicious and also think this is the right call.

But the first thing people think about with Apu is the over-the-top voice.
*Doesn’t need to check notes*
I can just as easily see a story where Kylo is about to strike Rey and Leia shoots him. Because that's also something Leia would do.
Palps never actually *said* that Darth Plagueis was his master. He tells that whole story with a sly grin on his face, and we’ve taken it to mean that Palps was the pupil who killed him, but he could be talking about a Sith master who lived a few generations before him.
I like the idea of Kylo redeming himself, realizing all the evil that he caused and then Walking The Earth trying to atone for it and set things right.
Why can’t Rose (the engineer) be the one to know Babu Frik, or get them on the Star Destroyer.
As someone who loved The Last Jedi, I would never give that film up just for the sake of “cohesion.”
Rise of Skywalker is intensely mediocre bad
The thing that gets me is that Darth plagueis is right THERE. You have a character who taught palpatine. You has been hanging over the series since he was mentioned, who could fill so many of the holes and issues that the seuqels had brought up and they chose to jump through so many hoops to avoid using him.
That’s not a hot take - Penny Dreadful was TERRIBLE. But it had great acting, great set/costume design, and an amazing ability to create individual scenes that made you think something awesome was about to happen, even though it never did.
I was done after the Season 2 finale, when two seasons worth of werewolf…
Why is it that no writer at any point was ever willing to just commit to Kylo being a villain? He’s a wretched little rat bastard, he doesn’t need redemption just because his grandad did. Just let him be evil!
“It’s so cool that they’re bringing in Palpatine’s boss(?) after never mentioning him in any movies. So neat that he was just off-screen the entire time!”
Yeah. I hate that Leia’s last pleas for the resistance falls on deaf ears, according to JJ. You couldn’t give her that? Just say that it worked. We see no indication that the Resistance is in shambles or falling apart or anything. Just say it worked.
There were some outstanding performances, the show looked great most of the time, I loved the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen-style monster mash-up premise, but the story was a complete mess. If this one can keep all the good stuff and have a coherent narrative it’ll have a shot at being great
Waiting for that inevitable Dexter reboot/sequel/prequel.
Yeesh, I live in LA and have never heard of Aimee Semple McPherson. But I have passed the temple after Googling. It looked kind of mondern, I had no idea it stretched back to the 1920s
“Natalie Dormer is certainly trying to take Eva Green’s place as Hollywood’s designated creepy but hot chick”
Now all she has to do is be creepy.
I stalled out on Penny Dreadful’s season two premiere, but I’m basically a sucker for any story set in 30's-50's Los Angeles.
McConnell, as bad as that fucking turtle is, doesn’t have a reach that impacts at least three separate continents. Murdoch, the devil that he is, does.
Yep, I rarely wish painful deaths upon people but Rupert Murdoch can drown while burning with gasoline fire while being eaten by a pack of sharks.
