And I don’t mind them taking the stance that fertility trumps everything - we saw that with Emily as well. I think they could have made a case in-world the founders of Gilead are ignoring race in favor of babies, but the showrunners have to deal with the implied meaning of all of that and don’t want to.

It was fine. I think it pulled off the mystery and terror of discovering a subversive secret crime syndicate better than Spectre.  (At the very least, it wasn’t repeating itself.)

Kind of a shame to see...Spectre after...Skyfall.

Kind of a shame to see Harris’s Moneypenny get such a small roll in Spectre after spending the time and energy to introduce her in Skyfall.

Seemed like a pretty mediocre dentist, though.

Man, Amazon’s entire strategy really is to steal other production company’s ideas, isn’t it?

If a ton of people were rushing to your defense and claiming that your post was comprehensibly written, then it would be my abilities that were in question. Instead, the overwhelming majority find your post to be baffling and incomprehensible.  Just take it as constructive criticism and move on.

What other things that you clearly know nothing about would you like to discuss today?

wut

Look, I'm happy that you recently realized religion is bullshit, I really am. But please wait until you're at least old enough to drive before developing an annoying superiority complex about it.

I do not comprehend what you just wrote. I'm not a stickler for grammar or anything I just have no idea what point you were trying to come to here.

God, I miss Roger Ebert. He was such a great writer. Period. Full stop.

Dowd doesn’t have to review this from the perspective of “a kid may like it” because kids are generally not discerning consumers.”

No kidding. I have three kids and there are lots of animated/kids movies we don’t watch.

hope they don’t need me to go on TV!

I think your question begs the question: does children’s entertainment have to be throwaway trash?

yeah, by this point, everyone has ample evidence about what’s going on with handmaids and no one would actually try to spin it as a handmaid “giving up her rights.”

There was that aside last week by the Canadian official who said that June gave up her parental rights–that apparently is Gilead’s story that they ask other countries to believe: handmaids are willing participants. And if people believe that’s true, June’s presence in videos intended for a Canadian audience makes

I know, right??? I mean, I guess you can contort yourself in an explanation that kinda makes a teensy bit of sense if you have to. Something about wanting to show the biological mother to imply that she was somehow consensual in the process.

I honestly don’t understand how putting June in the agitprop videos is supposed to work.
