I’ll have to rewatch that one! The North Pole one is the one burned into my brain from that episode, though.

Don’t let the toxic youtuber asshats ruin the fun. Dial of Destiny certainly won’t go down as a classic, but I had a blast with it and it’s at least a very respectable final chapter for my favorite cinematic character of all time.
I have re-watched Eddie Murphy’s elf sketch from SNL three times in the past month just to get a dose of Eddie at peak silliness. While the Beverly Hills Cop sequels were pretty lousy, am I stupid to be cautiously optimistic about this?
FUUUUUCK.
In short, no.
Whoa.
I still wish they had done Rob Long’s pitch, which was Frasier and Niles buy Cheers. Obviously DHP was a no show, but that could have worked.
A friend of mine actually did a similar job to your “not a bible” gig for a major animation studio he was reading for. But they were honest about it. They wanted him to heavily research and write up a very extensive “world building” document about a particular fantasy world. Something that already existed in real…
Well, in fairness to those asshats, they didn’t use that exactly phrasing, but that was the implication. They did say, and I quote, that “after a year, you will be CONSIDERED for paid reading.” (emphasis mine.)
Yeah, that’s how it goes, unfortunately. Still an extremely difficult, volatile, unpredictable line of work. Sorry your friend is having trouble.
I agree that pairing him with Alan is mildly amusing (but that D-story they were saddled with in the Christmas episode was so, so dopey.)
I prefer GIK.
BTW, your description of the Black List as “just another screenplay competition” is spot on.
That’s great. Good for your friend. That’s how the Black List is supposed to work, not “Hey, everyone Argo is coming out in two months with an A-List actor/director and we really liked the script!”
No, saying “jif” isn’t technically correct. Technically, it has a hard G, since technically it stands for Graphics. So people who say “jif” are technically wrong (and wrong in every other way, as well.)
is.
The other problem of the Black List is that it was originally - or at least sold itself as - a list of scripts that everyone loved to read that were not set up anywhere, thus giving some deserving scripts/writers a little PR boost.
nuNight Court is an abomination. nuFrasier is just kinda lame.
You could safely call it a continuation. That’s basically what a sequel.
Yes, but it shouldn’t be. The word has a meaning and this show ain’t a reboot. Neither was the show “Reboot” about a reboot.
