I had an abortion at age 15 in a Catholic Hospital in Canada. I was lying on the stretcher in the hallway, waiting to be wheeled into the OR, when a physician (not sure if he was my surgeon, or the anesthesiologist) came over and gave me an “I never want to see you in here again for this” lecture. I remember being

Exactly. Doesn’t seem like he performed his duty to refer the prescription to someone else in a timely manner.

People who think their feelings are more important that providing healthcare to a person should not work in healthcare in any capacity.

Fuck that guy, fuck Walgreens, and fuck the law making it ok.

Even when he was a Blue Jay Kelly Gruber wasn’t famous for his smarts. His autobiography came out in 1992 and one of his teammates (and it’s killing me that I can’t remember which one) said this was a good thing, because Kelly had written one more book than he’d read. I think he married a Blue Jays cheerleader ...

The “shooter was bullied” narrative comes straight from Columbine, where it’s been totally debunked.

Sure, Mr. Pagourtzis. The natural progression from being bullied is murdering scores of others. JFC. I’m so sick of this “my son was bullied” excuse. I was bullied ruthlessly in school, but I didn’t turn that shitshow into a mass shooting. You grow up and realize it makes you stronger. Of course, I’m a woman, so what

YES YES YES. That’s the real story here- the guns. WTF were they doing with guns within reach of their weird kid. Or any kid. All this bullying and loneliness stuff strikes me as a distraction.

The media may be reporting that, but people in this area are not buying it. My whole office has nothing but contempt for the shooter’s family trying to play like he is a victim. Most people want the father arrested too- for failing to secure his firearms. People are pissed.

I’m not a leafs fan but it isn’t leaves. They’re named after an old WWI (?) regiment. The Maple Leaf Regiment.

Armstrong was undoubtedly a huge asshole who took a sledgehammer to a few people’s careers and lives, and he should have to reckon with that. But to bleed him dry would have been gratuitous and draconian.

Great piece Patrick. But I still think you let him off too easy.

Armstrong remains an unrepentant, life-ruining asshole. He deserved much worse.

I saw that Anne of GG musical in PEI...

I was a goaltender for 20+ years so I’ll try to explain the best I can. Though it might be long.

“I’m always looking for new ways to do animal therapy on social,”

Now playing

I swear the Vicar of Dibley was just on one of the streaming channels. I’m pretty sure it was last year that we rewatched it for the third time. I see from IMDB that Ms Chambers had other roles, but in Alice, she helped create a brilliant and beloved character.

That was Brian Orser, who is a World Champion, double Olympic Silver medalist, and 8 time Canadian champion. He also coached the Men’s Gold and Bronze medalists at this Olympics. He is probably the best coach working in figure skating right now.

Osmond was so beautiful, and her jumps were just astounding.

Figure skating in person is so much better than on TV - you really see the height of the jumps & the patterns on the ice. Watching pairs in person is really like a different competition. Those women are fearless, & the height of the lifts & throws are really jaw dropping.
