Into Thin Air by Jon Krakauer

Figure skating needs to stare into the abuse abyss as well, but they are resisting. Just google John Coughlin and see what a pairs figure skating coach has been doing to try to have SafeSport care more about people accused of abuse than potential victims.

It makes great pulled chicken too! I use about 2 to 3 pounds of chicken thighs, fresh or frozen. Cover with your favorite bbq sauce, maybe a bit of water if your sauce is really thick. Cook under pressure for 13 minutes if chicken is not frozen, 15 minutes if it is. Do a quick release of pressure. Take chicken out &

Poppies are also worn in Canada.

Why aren’t the families who don’t store their guns properly ever charged? His family, who gave him access to these weapons, are partly responsible for his actions & should face consequences for their enabling of his crimes.

Judging could be an entire post by itself. I know a lot of old time skating fans hate the new system (although I don’t know if you can call something approximately 15 years old new), but I think it is much fairer than the old system. No way Nathan Chen would have jumped so many places under the old system. Internal

Her skate was wonderful, but unfortunately her short program marks meant she was too far behind. We can discuss whether the short program was judged fairly or not - I thought the Top two Russians were overmarked in their PCS for both programs.

Alina’s program was boring - all that backloading of jumps made the beginning a big yawn fest. I thought Katelyn Osmond’s performance was the best of the night - her jumps were big and powerful, and the actual program was interesting from the beginning to the end.

The competitions I would be interested in seeing this done for would be the 1988 Olympic competition between Brian Orser & Brian Boitano, this one between Tara & Michelle, and some of the ice dancing and pairs competitions where it seemed like the Russian/Soviet team always seemed to win, even when they did *not* seem

Figure skating in person is so much better than on TV - you really see the height of the jumps & the patterns on the ice. Watching pairs in person is really like a different competition. Those women are fearless, & the height of the lifts & throws are really jaw dropping.

This was big news in Canada at the time as well. One thing I will never forgive Tonya Harding for is ruining the Olympics of one of my favorite skaters, Canadian champion Josee Choinard. She never really did well at international competitions due to nerves, but she was a beautiful skater & that year had a really nice

Not my type of music, but I love this performance. When you are in the arena & everyone is skating to the same music, even if it is good music, it gets boring. It is obvious he enjoys the music, and his performance is improved because of that. It woke the audience up too. (Most figure skating audiences are not the

I had a Fitbit for a year. I liked it, but I found the strap kind of annoying. Last year my husband got me an Apple Watch for Christmas- the basic model. I love it. I am trying to walk more, and I like the active calorie and exercise circles. I don’t really care about the moving around once an hour thing, but I feel

Which is why we gave it to my son early - we lived through the Sony problems when we gave him a PS4 for Christmas a few years ago (2 years ago?). Didn’t want to take the chance of that happening again. Very glad we made the right choice this year.

Sorry, no tree picture, but for drapes, Smith and Noble online has some nice stuff.

Nick, the audiobooks for the Cuckoo’s Calling series are also fantastic, if you want to continue the series. I listen to audiobooks when I walk, &’they were so good I walked longer! They are read by British actor Robert Glenister and he is fantastic, even for the women’s voices.

I remember seeing this in the theater, and I had people dressed as ring wraiths sitting behind me. At the end of the movie, all I could hear was “where is the scourge of the shire?”, “what, no scourge of the shire?”. I thought they were going to do a scourge of the theater, they were so upset.

This is what I was going to say. The book is absolutely terrible.

But then we get Paul Ryan as president.

Doris Day had a very tough life - don’t confuse her movie roles with the real person.
