Her skate was wonderful, but unfortunately her short program marks meant she was too far behind. We can discuss whether the short program was judged fairly or not - I thought the Top two Russians were overmarked in their PCS for both programs.

Alina’s program was boring - all that backloading of jumps made the beginning a big yawn fest. I thought Katelyn Osmond’s performance was the best of the night - her jumps were big and powerful, and the actual program was interesting from the beginning to the end.

Figure skating in person is so much better than on TV - you really see the height of the jumps & the patterns on the ice. Watching pairs in person is really like a different competition. Those women are fearless, & the height of the lifts & throws are really jaw dropping.
