In its third-quarter results, released at the beginning of this month, The New York Times Company (NYSE:NYT) reported a 14% increase in overall subscription revenue, which was propelled by a nearly 60% rise in digital-only subscribers over the prior-year quarter. It’s no secret that surging interest in the Times’…
“Another false story, this time in the Failing @nytimes, that I watch 4-8 hours of television a day - Wrong! “
Every time that douchenozzle Steve King goes on about the superiority of Northern European culture I am reminded of the fact that, at the same time that Middle Eastern and Mediterranean civilization reached heights of sophistication that it took most of northern Europe at least 1000 more years to achieve, King’s pasty…
Aung San Suu Kyi, Myanmar’s civilian leader and a winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, lacks the authority to fully address the situation—though a Human Rights Watch spokesman asserted that she has allowed herself to be misled about what’s really going on
This bit seems a little irresponsible: “Aung San Suu Kyi, Myanmar’s civilian leader and a winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, lacks the authority to fully address the situation—though a Human Rights Watch spokesman asserted that she has allowed herself to be misled about what’s really going on”
I guess it’s to illustrate that the person is “intelligent and sane”. But it’s a stupid, lazy analogy. I have a friend who has several masters degrees and he’s the least intelligent, most unstable weirdo I’ve ever met.
I agree - I have to be honest, I actually thought “who gives a fuck?” to myself as I read. Someone’s degrees or job should have zero impact on whether or not they are treated with basic decency - this site above all should get that.
Sometimes babies need to go places, too. You sound like my roommate when she says children don’t belong on the subway.
Their issue was that she waited a few seconds to follow their commands. The fact that she did have the kid strapped in before the door closed, as promised, meant nothing. They expect immediate unquestioning obedience, apparently. In certain situations that makes sense, but this case is just ludicrous.
I get that they had to strap down for safety (and this is something I can see being inflexible about) but she did do that and crying babies are just something that we have to deal with to the best of our ability.
PLEASE let’s keep talking about the restaurant industry. For many of us, that’s where we got our first jobs as teens. And where we first experienced sexual harassment, although if you’re 16 years old you just try to tell yourself that it’s good that the cooks tease you because that must mean they like you and it’s…
I really don’t need a spelling lesson, Megyn. Take it down a notch.
You mean when Newt Gingrich was impeaching Clinton while cheating on his cancer ridden wife?
Apparently consensual blowjobs are a no-no but unwanted pussy-grabbing is just fine.
Remember back when Republican politicians “cared” about the President’s sexual predations? I wonder what happened to all that indignation.
It’ll probably go for a lot more than that, also. It’s a detached home in a nice neighbourhoood, so.
In honor of our new Queen, I started watching Suits and borrowed the box set from my sister.
If at first you are struck by the home’s modesty (it’s just $1.4 million!)
watches tv all day and still has the nerve to go on vacation.
