Captain Nemo vs. Cthulhu. There's your movie you myopic fucks.

Yes, it has been (those saying no apparently haven't heard of Google), for at least 4 years. Originally it was going to be produced by and star Natalie Portman. When she dropped out, production stalled, and they went out to just about every young actress out there, some attaching themselves to it for a while before

Hasn't this adaptation been in the works for years already? Or am I thinking of something else? If not, what made it finally start going into pre-production?

I'm totally unimpressed by the fashion, but it's very true that the creators of modern sci fi tv and movies are totally chicken when it comes to future fashion. They're so afraid that some day someone will smirk at their vision the way they smirk at older things like Star Trek.

Doctor who especially during the 2nd and third would have.

Yup, The Cell totally was the first thing I thought of seeing these fashions

Hussein Chaylayan was doing sci fi worthy fashion years ago, and we can't leave out Theirry Mugler ever.

In history class you learn to see that, when people drew illustrations of the Bible or of ancient stories, they didn't draw them how those people would have dressed but rather, they were drawn with the clothing and technology (weapons, etc.) from the time the drawings were done. So an illustration of Jesus in 1500

Fezzik: Why do you wear a mask? Were you burned by acid, or something like that?

I think some of Padme's outfits in Phantom Menace were pretty wild

I would quite seriously hurt someone for the chance to own this outfit.

Dune miniseries and one from aeon flux since apparently net face masks are impressive now. What costumes were you thinking of from logans run? because I just pulled a cosplay from it and picked that movie because all they seem to wear are tunics and turtlenecks and I only had one day to put my last costume together.

They told her she could either get married or go to the fencing championships. She chose both.

What do you mean no movie would dare to include such weird futuristic costumes?
Ladies and gentlemen... Tarsem:

just look at Zardoz

I would actually wear the hell out of this.

Man I hate Kinja.

en garde!

Agree, todays Sci Fi movie costumes are incredibly tame by comparison to the 70s/80s. It's the same short list of concept artists who work on all projects and all their illustrations/designs look incredibly similar to each other. The generic videogame design look. I don't know if the artists have just gotten less

I could actually picture this in a Handmaid's Tale sort of story.
