you are not the target audience, in fact i am not either. we would not spend the money on this thing simply because they are just as ugly now as they were new. but to the people that love these things, the price is right considering the work and miles. they would have to disclose the true miles to sell it, so if the

I would hate to see the caliber of woman that resides in your area.

He probably put all that work into it, drove it for a week and realized that it’s still a 2wd 4 banger

This Tacoma’s not for my homa.

It’s gotta be slow AF too with that 4 banger. Lifted with larger tires, not gonna get the 19mpg combined.

Regular cab, extra crack.

It wouldn’t be my choice either stock or custom, but that was a factory offering and in fact was the basis for this vehicle. TRD Prerunner package, 2WD. An around-the-block neighbor had one when they first came out, and there are still plenty running around.

Agreed. This is a very sad CP, because I love this truck. It hits all the right buttons for me, from a manual transmission to a nice, professional lift and a standard cab. I even love the color. But with a salvage title and high miles, there is no way I would ever pay $17900.00 for this example.  I wouldnt be able to

When you’re doing this level of modification, it only makes sense if it’s a forever vehicle. If you were someone who were THIS into standard cab Toyotas, this is a reasonable thing to do assuming you have the finances for it. Toyota will never sell you one so if you’re going to have one you have to build it yourself.

Beautiful or not, I’m still trying to wrap my head around why you would do this. I mean, I’ve been bored at times, but but I’ve never been so bored that I’ve considered tackling a project of such questionable value.

I have more of an issue with it being the 4cyl. A V6 swap for about 5 grand less would be more reasonable.

Have any of the commenters lamenting the loss of single-cab trucks actually owned one? I had a single cab Ford Ranger in college and it was pretty lame not having enclosed room for any tools. Or luggage. Or your groceries. You can get a bed-mounted toolbox, but there goes your bed space.

Thinking you could buy a decent Tacoma for $5k is the real crack price.

Exactly. Beautifully done. And underneath you still have a 150 thousand mile, four cylinder truck from a decade ago.

Honestly, when was the last time you saw crowds picketing your local Toyota dealer with signs emblazoned with “Give Me Standard Cabs or Give Me Death?”

Man, that’s a good looking Crack Pipe!

I really, really love the idea of this truck, but then the negatives kept coming: 4x2, 144k miles, salvage title, etc. That was enough for me to read.

I love the look of this truck. Perfect combination of color and wheels. This looks to be very well done.

This is a good suggestion in more ways than one.

Yeah, definitely have seen that a few times before. Never do partial protection. All, or nothing.
