@keepcoolbutcare is a qweirdo like a weirdo of the homosexual persuasion? I'm off to urban dictionary!
Edit: the comment this was in response to seems to have disappeared, which is too bad, because I actually agreed with it…

@avclub-7d26c14b4a096a0afc48154974c4b7d6:disqus Perhaps, but I think you may be underestimating the complexity of human attraction (especially female attraction). I'm sure this is the case with guys too, but it is not at all uncommon for women to continue to be attracted to a guy despite being sexually incompatible

I think the show has also implied in the past that Marnie on some level is turned on by the idea of being dominated. I felt like this whole encounter was about how fantasy doesn't always translate very well into reality. Marnie thought she wanted a guy who would use her, order her around, etc. But the reality was it

Maybe Lena and I have been doing a different brand of coke, but I think the paranoia stuff tends to come later on, once the novelty of the drug has worn off.

Thats a really great point, and I think it highlights my confusion about everyone's obsession with these characters being "unlikeable". Is Hannah any worse a person than Liz Lemon? I don't think som and yet people love Liz Lemon. I realize that GIRLS is more realistic than 30 Rock and that realism can add a certain

Favorite A.V.Club memory of 2012: the uncovering of Blinky and Claudia Kishi's secret clubhouse. Truly, one of the weirdest things I have ever seen on the internet.

I actually really loved it for being the comedic Blue Valentine.

Yeah, the video is certainly inspired by it, though less S&My.

I also watched Holy Motors this week, and I was slightly disappointed. Don't get me wrong, I was blown away by Deni Lavant as a performer, but in the end the whole endeavor felt a little…empty? I'm not familiar with Carax's other work, but this one felt a bit like Lynch without the lurking subconscious, or Kaufman

I have trouble reading the Community episode as an homage (mainly because there are no outright nids to AD) and can't help but feel like it's a cheap knock off. I'm strangely lukewarm to Community in general, but that episode really bugged me. I just couldn 't stop thinking about how AD did it better.
