I remember someone a while back talking about how it's possible that Cordelia is in there watching it all unfold, but not at the wheel. I love how morbid that thought is, and have chosen to believe it.

Agreed with Soz. The first time I watched it I didn't know about the twist, but had the too-good-to-be-true feeling that it was all going to be subverted in the end. Watching it again a few months ago, I found all the reconcilliation between Wes & Gun, Wes & Angel, Connor & Angel quite funny and ridiculous. It hinted…

Jane Wyman and Rock Hudson in Magnificent Obsession/All That Heaven Allows? Wyman might just have one of those looks that doesn't translate into modern ideals, but to me she looks utterly Plain Jane next to the timelessly dreamy Hudson
I'm going to have to agree with imogenoldham486. In the world of average, real-life people that I live in, I see much more cases of fit attractive men with overweight, unattractive women.
It might just be that I'm a woman, and so more likely to notice that dynamic, while the men that dominate this website would be…
oh no, I've been identified!
I own a video store in Canada. You might think this would make me biased on the topic, but considering I could easily get a job that paid better, and caused me less daily stress, I think it's fair to say the passion for "the video store" came first, and the invested interests I have in it are few.
Our selection is…
re: movie mythology, remember also how movie Buffy would get menstrual cramps when a vampire was nearby? Lucky for t.v. Buffy they didn't carry that over. Still, it would've been kind of neat if they had just once addressed how annoying it would be to have to go slay when you're PMSing…
I had totally forgotten about the birthmark, which was only mentioned in the Kristy Swanson movie. I like that explanation for why Buffy was found late, but lets be honest, I don't think the birthmark mythology carries over to the t.v. series.
except that Willow later helped Anya do a spell to get her amulet back. I got the impression they had atleast learned about the significance of the amulet when they sent Vamp Willow back to her rightful reality.
Good point, but I think just like this episode uses specific camera techniques to convey paranoia, I'm sure the giddy "awareness" of mushrooms could be visually approximated. I've just rarely seen an accurate mushroom scene that shows what people are really like on a trip (although the Knocked Up scene is pretty…
I'm still waiting for the t.v. show or movie that will accurately portray the pure beauty of a good mushroom experience.
It's been YEARS since I watched this episode, and I only remember it vaguely, but I was 18 or 19 and a pretty big stoner at the time. I just hated the way they portrayed Nate's high, and thought it was a really negative and unrealistic.
Now I'm older and have known a few people to have freakouts on pot, so I probably…
One thing that has always bugged me about the show though is how one dimensional the teenage characters on the show (Dawn, potentials, etc) have been portrayed, in contrast to how respectfully the show treated Buffy, Willow, Xander, Oz. (and to a lesser extent even Cordelia) when they were 16-18. Yes, Buffy was…
except the difference between Cordelia and Kennedy is that Cordelia was FUNNY. And by now the show writers seemed to think that all the funny should belong to Andrew.
Alright, I said I wasn't going to prolong this conversation anymore, but I'm kind of disappointed no one has addressed my theory that one cannot be fully and critically honest with themselves and still subscribe to a particular faith based belief system. I guess I'll just assume that my point was so good everyone…
@delurking valkyrie: Great observation!
I also have to love this storyline for likely inspiring the dentist scene on Louie. The visual of Stephen Root smiling at Louie C.K. in the desert and force feeding him a banana is priceless.
"Okay, so you were violated by two people while you were under the gas, so what? You're single."
And a Google search of the word "Sacramende" only came up with this:
