I'll be amazed if he hasn't completely destroyed his brother's company by end of season, and that might be part of it.

Yes, as noted elsewhere, they were Legion of Doom analogs. I don't see a connection to Doom Patrol at all, though I'm no Doom Patrol expert.

If you italicize it, it's French, if you don't it's English, with English grammar rules, cliché is a noun, clichéd is an adjective; accent optional, though preferred by some dictionaries.

Most famous for a story about P.T. Barnum who used to "This way to the egress" signs as a way to usher people out the exit of his "museum" so he could sell more tickets. Most people don't know what "egress" means, so they thought it was another attraction/exhibit.

I understand the desire to fit this in with other recent movies, but I'd have also been interested in comparisons with this previous Jesse Owens biopic:

Mississippi Burning is ridiculous in it's depiction of the heroic FBI combatting racism, however.

Trump's rider says all his green M&M's must be spray-painted gold.

the writers choose not to say anything insightful about the actual 2016 presidential election

Spoilers for zillion year old movie.
Well, the Denzel Washington character in Training Day wasn't "morally ambiguous" either, he was a criminal, who picked Ethan Hawke's character as a gullible patsy. That's not something that they can stretch out into a series.

We can both be drunk, it's fine. :-)
